Lower down satisfaction and motivation of workers

participation concept should be
emphasized in organization
especially through Health and
Safety Committee (HSC).

So, EP in organization is
crucial, as (employee) is
individual engine to the
organization that often
involve in the operational
activities (Harley et.al;
Markey et.al, 2011 )

participation (Sisson, 1996;
Jackson, 1991;

Cabrera, 2002;

act 1994.
• Section 30 &31 AKKP 1994-
every employers are
compulsory to set up
workplace if they have
exceeded 40 workers in their
organization.

“THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HSC
IN THE WORKPLACE”

• HSC – one of the body in managing
safety and health aspect in
workplace, carried out 3 functions
based on self regulation
concept,, bargaining and
cooperation.
• Bargaining and cooperation involve
participation between management
and lower grop workers in JKKP which
emphasized on employee
participation in organization (Hapriza
and Roshazlizawati, 2007:39;Ismial
Bahari, 2006; and Kamal Halili, 2001)

PURPOSE OF HSC
i) To carried out the policy and
regulation on occuoational safety
and health in workplace.
ii) To encourage management and
lower groups workers to bargain
and cooperate on the safety and
health issues in workplace.
iii) To act and think as well as to
develop various program for same
purpose.
iv) One main source of two-way
communication.

‣ Employee participation in JKKP will
help management in reducing the rate

‣ The statement is supported by the
Wangel (2007); Kamal (2001);Ismail
(2002); Shearn (2004); Mohamad
et.al (2005); Junaidy (2006); Howes
(2007) and Soehod (2008) that the
establishing of occupational safety
and health committee (JKKP) in the
workplace is kind of assistance in
reducing the case of accident in the
workplace.

The establishment of JKKP in the company
not only fulfill on occupational safety and
health in the workplace issues in the
organization.
Also in creating cooperation and hardwork
together between management
group, employees and members of union
in deciding any decision and outcomes
together indentify the safety and health
