DINING WITH DIABETES <br />

Dining with Diabetes in <strong>Wyoming</strong> is an educational program that teaches<br />

individuals with type 2 diabetes and their families about better ways to<br />

prepare foods that may improve their diabetes management. Participants<br />

also learn up-to-date information on nutrition, meal planning, daily<br />

physical activity, and how to understand common diabetes-related medical<br />

tests. Recipes and handouts will be given to each participant.<br />

TOOLS FOR MEDITATION <br />

Through subtle instruction and guidance, participants will be<br />

introduced to various forms of meditation practice. We will<br />

unveil some of the mystery behind meditation and discuss the science<br />

behind it. We will also learn about the proven benefits of meditation as we<br />

practice different techniques to enable participants to achieve a meditative<br />

state. We will explore passive meditations including visualization, guided,<br />

concentrated and vispassana. Participants will have the opportunity to<br />

practice active meditations such as mindful walking, chanting/mantra and<br />

eating, to gain a better understanding of alert presence in all moments.<br />

This class, like meditation itself, is not religious in any way; however,<br />

participants may be introduced or reacquainted with eastern philosophies<br />

within the context of understanding the underlying concepts of meditation.<br />

Participants should dress in comfortable non-confining clothing and<br />

should bring a blanket, mat or pillow. Depending on the temperature, they<br />

may wish to bring a robe or hoodie.<br />

If you or a loved one is dealing with addiction and you need answers to<br />

What is addiction? How can it be a disease? How does it happen?<br />

How does it affect the individual, loved ones, and society? How do the<br />

addictive drugs work on the mind and body? Why can't they "just stop"?<br />

Why treatment and/or 12-step meetings? What is treatment like? What<br />

is the ability and responsibility of the addicted person? What can I do<br />

to help myself and my loved one? Margene is a Licensed Professional<br />

Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Therapist.<br />

and attitude. It has been reported that in our modern day society<br />

many people only use as little as 25% of their lung capacity due to stress<br />

and other factors in our daily lives. Science has shown that learning<br />

special breathing techniques may help a person to lose weight, lower<br />

blood pressure, and increase energy to name just a few of the benefits.<br />

See how the Psoas muscle not only effects posture, but also the breathing<br />

process. Students will learn techniques to reduce stress and improve their<br />

quality of life.<br />
