We count ourselves as fortunate to have a number of fabulous
Year in Fundraising – 2010
committees who regularly coordinate fundraising events in aid of
Chai. We look forward to working with you again in the coming year.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you
who have chosen to support Chai Cancer Care’s
fundraising campaign in 2010.
As Chai receives no statutory funding we are entirely
reliant on, and particularly grateful to, the continued
generosity of the UK Jewish community. You ensure that
Chai can continue to meet the growing demand for
our expertise and specialised care, and develop
innovative new cancer support services throughout
the UK.
We truly appreciate our loyal Benefactors & Patrons
who play such a significant part in funding Chai’s many
great accomplishments over the years.
In an effort to make recognition for the community’s
generosity more accessible, 2010 has seen the launch
of our Friends campaign, enabling us to publically
acknowledge donations of £2,500. Any donation can
be spread over the course of a year as a standing
order, making it more financially manageable to
become our Friend should you wish!
Legacy income is so vital to any charity. It provides
crucial funding enabling forward planning and the
innovation and development of new services. In 2010
Chai has officially launched a Legacy Campaign
encouraging our existing supporters to consider
remembering Chai in their Will. What a wonderful way
of helping to ensure that future generations of cancer
patients and their families can continue access the
very best advice and specialist support.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the many gracious
and generous people who this year have foregone
their own gifts to nominate Chai as their recipient for
Commemorative Giving. By marking special occasions
in their lives or the lives of their loved ones this way they
are able to have a lasting impact on the lives of those
affected by a cancer diagnosis.

The brave individuals who have undertaken heroic
Sponsored Activities in efforts to raise money for Chai
are a source of great inspiration to us all. From
Marathon running (or walking), climbing 3 mountains in
24 hours, to skydiving and dance-athons – we are truly
grateful for all of your endeavours.
32). Through Chai Promise, you will be raising vital funds for Chai’s
Children & Family Support Service whilst participating in a community
initiative.
Check out Chai’s new website. By November you can post your own
pictures of Chai events and activities and also can set up your own
fundraising page. This will work much like Just Giving but Chai will not
have to incur any 3rd party charges – meaning all your hard earned
sponsorship will directly fund Chai’s services. Donating online has
never been easier.
