– farm land that has been left lying<br />

abandoned for the period longer than<br />

two years without agricultural use<br />

and cultivation.<br />

abandonment (zaniechanie, opusz−<br />

czenie, porzucenie) – the possibility<br />

of farmland no longer being ma−<br />

naged for agriculture or any other<br />

purpose.<br />

absorption capacity (absorpcyjna<br />

zdolność) – the capacity of the given<br />

region for effective utilisation of the<br />

flowing external financial resources<br />

(primarily concerns assistance funds<br />

and credits). The absorption capacity<br />

generally depends on the conditions,<br />

on which these resources are made<br />

available and on the level of the<br />

social−economic development of the<br />

region.<br />
