Hans Hansen<br />
Meet Hans Hansen, one of our<br />
resident plant experts and head of<br />
the WGI hybridizing team. Hans<br />
was a born gardener, working first in<br />
his family’s garden at the age of three and<br />
then moving on to breeding Asiatic lilies when<br />
he was just a teenager. Though he enjoys hybridizing many<br />
genera including Baptisia and Paeonia, he is most known for<br />
his numerous hosta introductions including ‘Journey’s End’ (p.<br />
136), which he considers to be one of his best. Hans is especially<br />
excited to offer you his series of DECADENCE Baptisias,<br />
which are the result of over a decade of his breeding work.<br />
