THE KITE DESIGN STUDIOS
WHO WE ARE?
Kite Design Studios is a group of self-employed designers and producers formed in 2011. All
businesses operate as micro-enterprises. The designers work from their own workshops
and/or the Kite Design Studios. The emphasis is on high quality craftsmanship with a strong
design element.
THE CONSIGNMENT PROGRAM
To facilitate the goals of this program, a panel of stakeholders (the review board) meets every
month to view new work and evaluate current consignment accounts. Once invited to
participate in the program, all consignees are represented for a minimum of three months.
Terms are €10 euro per week and 10% of sales (to be reviewed every six months). Paychecks
are generated at the beginning of each month for the previous month. Consignees are
expected to replace work as it sells, maintaining the style and standard of craftsmanship
originally submitted for review. Thirty days notice is required by either the consignee or the
Kite Design Guild to terminate an existing consignment.
WHAT THE REVIEW COMMITTEE IS LOOKING FOR
We only accept Irish handmade crafts of high quality craftsmanship and unique design
suitable for display in a dense retail environment.
The artwork should not duplicate or resemble work currently represented in the gallery
We would like to see a cohesive body of work that can be effectively displayed, given the
gallery’s unique space configuration and limitations.
SUBMIT WORK
Please include 5 hi-resolution images in JPEG format on a CD (include this in your
application and write you contact information directly on the CD) or upload your formatted

We do not accept physical samples of artwork unless specifically requested by the
consignment review board. NOTE: include a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that we
can return your materials
WHEN TO APPLY
The dead line for applications is the first Friday of each month (and completed forms must
be received by the first Friday of the month)
AFTER APPLYING
You receive one of the following outcomes within a week of the review:
The materials are returned if we are unable to accept the work
A request to keep the materials on file to possibly fill future openings
An invitation to show 3-5 physical pieces of your work for further review if necessary
An invitation to consign a body of your work in the gallery
