Championship Information Bulletin Ref. FCB03 April 1st 2013
1. Rounds 1,2 and 3 Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. 28-31 March.
1.1 Attached are the provisional Championship Positions charts for drivers and teams following opening rounds 1,
2 and 3. These are also on the website. Congratulations to Dan Cammish for his three race wins. Also for Nico
Maranzana for his Scholarship Class wins. Spirit Awards of a set of Dunlop tyres were presented to Falcon
Motorsport for their solid work and complete professionalism to get three cars and drivers ready for this first event.
This award may be given at each round if we feel any party in our Championship deserves additional congratulations
for their ‘spirit’ of motorsport.
Snap-On Business Solutions Technician Award is chosen from the competing teams, to win a £150 Snap-on tool
voucher. At the end of the season they will award a tool cabinet worth £3000 to the mechanic deemed to have put in
the biggest effort overall. Our technical team judged Richardson Racing to have taken on a major challenge in
receiving their car late Thursday, and managing to get the aero package on it in time for Friday practice and to finish
all three races.
Should you need more results packs of the event please download them from www.tsl-timing.com (link on our
website). Photographs of the event are available on www.jakobebrey.com.
1.2 The Sunday race events are broadcast that day on both ITV4, ITV4 HD and online at www.itv.com. Coverage
from each event will be screened over a seven hour period each raceday Sunday (11:00-18:00). Highlights from
Formula Ford will be shown on the Motorsports UK programme on ITV4 on May 7th and 11th, with an additional
repeat on May 12th on ITV. Please check TV press nearer the date for transmission times but the first programme is
likely to be early evening, the next mid-morning and the ITV repeat during the night.
1.3 Judicial.
Drivers are reminded that the penalties for MSA Regulation (Q)14.5 (track limits) will be used all season—as advised
in the Driver Briefing. Laps made while off limits were removed from the qualifying session and penalties for driver
conduct were addressed during racing.
Drivers and entrant team managers of cars 9, 17, 24 and 34 were interviewed by the Clerk of the Course (David
Pierre) to ascertain how various on-track incidents occurred. Additional official television and in-car footage was also
studied in supplement to the reports received.
Driver of car 9 was given a verbal warning and found guilty of contravening MSA regulation C1.1.5 during race 2 —
driving in a manner incompatible with general safety or departing from the standard of a reasonably competent driver.
1.5 Our thanks to you all for your support of this weekend, especially to those registered drivers who were not
Anything else?
2. Testing.
2.1 Thruxton. Your exclusive pre-race test is over 3-weeks earlier than the race meeting - on Tuesday 9th April
(next week). This is due to local authority restrictions. Your two sessions have been booked and paid for,
exclusively for our championship only. Sessions are scheduled for 09:00-09:45 and 13:00-13:40. Should you need
more information your circuit contact there is Pat Blakeney on 01264 882 211 or 07774 713 700;
pat@thruxtonracing.co.uk.
2.2 Donington Park. Thursday 18th April has sessions at 10:30-11:10 and 15:00-15:40 exclusively for us.
2.3 Schedules for testing, parking-up and provisional time tables for the whole year are on the championship
website in the Teams Area.
3. Donington Park. It is possible to park up for the weekend event from Wednesday 17th April between 16:00-
17:00; Thursday 07:30-09:30 or Friday 09:00-11:00. We must work with the parking-up team for every event, and
arrive during the times specified in order for them to make the best presentation of our paddock. They also have
dimensions and details of your paddock display and will calculate each paddock design using this information—so
please let me know if it changes for any reason.
4. Livery. Some teams did not have time to change their side pod livery. Please would it be done for the next
round—the design is different to last year and reads ‘Powered by EcoBoost’. There will be longer name plates
available for the next event for those requiring them.
