CONSTRUCTION<br />

Building Analyst and Envelope<br />

Professional Training<br />

Prepare yourself for the fast growing energy efficiency<br />

industry. Earn two Building Performance<br />

Institute (BPI) certifications in eight weeks of<br />

weeknight and weekend classes without having<br />

to take time off from your day job. The training<br />

includes BPI national certification testing.<br />

Date: 7/10–8/14<br />

Time: Wed., 5:30–8:30 p.m.<br />

Sat., 9 a.m.–Noon<br />

Building Science Principles (BSP)<br />

This certification course is your first step into<br />

the world of energy efficient home performance.<br />

Understand the relationship between<br />

the building envelope, heating, air conditioning,<br />

insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting,<br />

appliances and other systems of the home.<br />

Learn how all of these systems affect the<br />

comfort, health and safety of occupants and<br />

durability of the home. The training includes<br />

BPI certification testing fee.<br />

Heating Professional<br />

Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification<br />

is the nationally approved training standard of<br />

the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®<br />

Program of the U.S. Department of Energy<br />

and the Environmental Protection Agency. BPI<br />

Building Analyst or Performance Tested Comfort<br />

Systems certification (PTCS) is a required<br />

prerequisite.<br />

PTCS Duct Sealing Technician<br />

Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) is<br />

a certification program for contractors installing,<br />

servicing or inspecting heat pumps and ductwork.<br />

Technicians who successfully complete<br />

the course will become PTCS certified and eligible<br />

to participate in various regional programs.<br />

Date: 6/25–27 or 8/20–22<br />

Weatherization Tech<br />

This course is designed to train students how<br />

to properly weatherize existing buildings and<br />

homes. Students will receive field training<br />

where they will perform weatherization and<br />

repair activities. This Clean Energy Works<br />

Oregon qualified program includes a WHALC<br />

(Whole House Air Leakage Control) certification<br />

from Building Performance Institute (BPI).<br />

Introduction to AutoCAD 2013<br />

This hands-on, three-day course introduces<br />

the user to AutoCAD. Designed for students<br />

who are not currently using AutoCAD or using<br />

version 2008 or older, this course will<br />

teach students to use AutoCAD to design<br />

and draft in 2D and create, layer, edit, modify,<br />

annotate, dimension and prepare sheets<br />

for plotting. This course also introduces the<br />

user to features, commands and techniques<br />

for becoming more productive when creating,<br />

annotating and printing drawings with<br />

AutoCAD. More advanced topics include<br />

advanced objects, advanced dimensioning,<br />

manipulating objects and data, dynamic<br />

blocks, plotting and more.<br />
