HORNSBY POLICE NEWS About 10am Monday 10 th June in Arcadia road, Arcadia (near Vision Valley Road), a Diahatsu appears to have failed to negotiate a right hand bend, careered off the road into a garden bed then into a tree. There was extensive damage to the front of the car. The driver appears to have removed the number plates and left the scene. Later that night a neighbour reported the car ‘in the bush’ to police. Inquiries led police to a nearby property where the said number plates were allegedly found. The owner or driver has not yet been spoken to and inquiries are continuing. Car crash on the Gorge About 7.30am Friday 7 th June a Corolla, driven towards Hornsby on Galston Gorge by a 17 year old male P1, has failed to negotiate a left hand bend and collided with a rock wall near Tunks Bridge. The driver was not hurt. He was issued a ticket for negligent driving. Stealing from a department store About 2.45pm Monday 10 th old male is alleged to have removed a security tag from a jumper. The male has then continued browsing in the shop before returning to the same jumper where it is alleged he picked it up and left the store without paying for it. It was valued at $105. The male was stopped and police were called. He received an infringement notice for the incident. He was also banned from DJ’s for 5 Between Friday 24 th May and Sunday 26 th May in Billarga Place, Westleigh someone has broken into a garage at the home and stolen 1 racing push bike, a Mountain push bike and a demolition hammer. The total value is estimated to be $3,500. Police are appealing to witnesses who may have information relating to the above incidents to contact Hornsby police on 9476 9799, or phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to report any information anonymously.
