Information and Guidance<br />
We offer a free and confidential service to you whether you are a<br />
student already or if you just wish to find out more information<br />
about our courses.<br />
You can get any information you require about courses from one<br />
of our welcoming and pleasant team.<br />
We can also help you to complete course or job application forms,<br />
CV’s and UCAS forms.<br />

Careers Team<br />
We have a team of professionally qualified careers advisers who<br />
are based here at The Hub and also offer a service at High<br />
Melton for Higher Education students. If you wish to enrol on a<br />
course or have already enrolled upon a course and maybe<br />
thinking of progression routes, career change you can come and<br />
visit us for advice and guidance. You can book an hour long<br />
appointment with us or alternatively you can attend a drop-in<br />
service where you can just come in and see us.<br />

Also we have a link to Connexions; if you would like an<br />
appointment and are on a full time FE course we offer<br />
appointments from 9.30 until 10.30 on Wednesday morning’s<br />
followed by a drop in service from 10.30 until 1pm.<br />

Financial Support<br />
Aims Team<br />
<strong>Doncaster</strong> <strong>College</strong> has a learner support fund to help support<br />
students with financial assistance whilst at college. We can help<br />
pay for materials, text books, uniforms, travel and also childcare<br />
costs. The fund is means tested and will depend on your<br />
combined household income.<br />
Also if you are a student who is just leaving school and taking a<br />
place on a full time course you can apply for EMA, this can be<br />
up to £30 per week and also includes bonuses. We also offer<br />
an adult grant for students aged 19 – 30 who are doing a<br />
course which last at least 12 hours per week and who are<br />
earning less than £30,000 per year.<br />

The AIMS project assists new residents to <strong>Doncaster</strong> access<br />
education opportunities.<br />
We can assist non speakers of English onto the appropriate<br />
classes, including ESOL, EFL and help brush up your skills as<br />
well as access onto further education courses.<br />
We can provide NARIC comparability checks against British<br />
standard qualifications, after a translation has been made.<br />
We also offer an individual service that gives advice and<br />
guidance as well a practical support in all aspects of securing<br />
employment.<br />
We provide a specialist welfare worker to support individuals of<br />
the service with issues that could prevent them from accessing<br />
education or successfully completing their course.<br />
We also hold information in various different languages and have<br />
access to the language line for translators.<br />
