Directions Finningley
We are also linked to Directions Finningley which is located next
to Robin Hood Airport. As one of the UK’s leading airport and
aviation training academies, we offer a wide range of around
150 training programmes for airport staff, airline ground crew and
flight crew.
Boeing 727 Fuselage Delivered to Aviation Academy
A Boeing 727 fuselage has been delivered to the Directions
Finningley Airport and Aviation Academy at the airport. The plane
registered EC-DDX was used previously by Liberia and has now
undergone major refurbishment to enable it to be used for training
purposes. People wanting to develop their knowledge and skills
can do so by using real working aviation equipment as oppsed to
simulated training.

Services
We offer a professional service which covers all aspects that
learners require here at Doncaster College. We are a friendly,
approachable team and are available throughout the day for all
the services above. The reception area has a disabled friendly
area for wheelchair users and offers a hearing loop service.

Information and Guidance
We offer a free and confidential service to you whether you are a
student already or if you just wish to find out more information
about our courses.
You can get any information you require about courses from one
of our welcoming and pleasant team.
We can also help you to complete course or job application forms,
CV’s and UCAS forms.

Careers Team
We have a team of professionally qualified careers advisers who
are based here at The Hub and also offer a service at High
Melton for Higher Education students. If you wish to enrol on a
course or have already enrolled upon a course and maybe
thinking of progression routes, career change you can come and
visit us for advice and guidance. You can book an hour long
appointment with us or alternatively you can attend a drop-in
service where you can just come in and see us.

Also we have a link to Connexions; if you would like an
appointment and are on a full time FE course we offer
appointments from 9.30 until 10.30 on Wednesday morning’s
followed by a drop in service from 10.30 until 1pm.

Financial Support
Aims Team
Doncaster College has a learner support fund to help support
students with financial assistance whilst at college. We can help
pay for materials, text books, uniforms, travel and also childcare
costs. The fund is means tested and will depend on your
combined household income.
Also if you are a student who is just leaving school and taking a
place on a full time course you can apply for EMA, this can be
up to £30 per week and also includes bonuses. We also offer
an adult grant for students aged 19 – 30 who are doing a
course which last at least 12 hours per week and who are
earning less than £30,000 per year.

The AIMS project assists new residents to Doncaster access
education opportunities.
We can assist non speakers of English onto the appropriate
classes, including ESOL, EFL and help brush up your skills as
well as access onto further education courses.
We can provide NARIC comparability checks against British
standard qualifications, after a translation has been made.
We also offer an individual service that gives advice and
guidance as well a practical support in all aspects of securing
employment.
We provide a specialist welfare worker to support individuals of
the service with issues that could prevent them from accessing
education or successfully completing their course.
We also hold information in various different languages and have
access to the language line for translators.
