This year, we bid fareweH to lVII'S. Jean<br />

Cameron, B.A., a truly great comme~ci-al<br />

teacheJr. We wi'sh her well on her wppointmentas<br />

In tflIe :seven years lVII'S. Gameron has<br />

been at J'arvisas iheadof tJhe GommerC'ial<br />

Department, she has helped many of her<br />

students achieve a deeper interest and a<br />

more 'comprehensive understanding whout<br />

the surrounding's in the business world.<br />

'Ehrouglhout the years, :she ha;s always been<br />

ready when any typing or stenciHing had<br />

to be done. The Central Council, which<br />

has just been fo,rmed this j"ear, have come<br />

to her many times and are greatly indebted<br />

to her £.01' help.<br />

lVIrs. Cameron was born in Dresden,<br />

Ontario, and later attended schools in<br />

Port Perry and Collingwood. She then<br />

came to Toronto and obtained her Bachelor<br />

of Arts degree at Victoria CoHegeand<br />

after graduating, worked in i:lhe College<br />

office for a year. From tJheir she went to<br />

O.C.E. and then taught ,in DunnViille,<br />

where she met her husband. Unfortunately,<br />

he pa;ssed away three years after<br />

they were married. Then she went hack<br />

to teaching at East,ern High Sclhoo[ of<br />

Commerce for two years on tille temporary<br />

staff. From there she went to Malvern<br />

when the Commercia,l Department was<br />

started and she taught there unti:l 1953.<br />

From tlhere she came to U'S as head of the<br />

Commercia:1 Department here.<br />

lVII'S. Cameron isa highly qualified<br />

teaciher as glhe is a specialist in English<br />

and History, Physicrul Culture,and Com~<br />

mercial. She is particularly interested in<br />

working with young people and she also<br />

enjo)'ls listening to operatic music. She is<br />

extremely proud of her son, John, who is<br />

majoring in Physics at lVIclVIa;ster Universityand<br />

ihopes to obtain his Ph.D. this<br />

year. She was also proud this year, to<br />

be00me tJhe grandmother of a charming<br />

little boy.<br />

We wish lVII'S. Cameron continued success<br />

and happiness in all her endeavours.<br />
