NEW
The CRF V6 Clutch is yet another groundbreaking design from engineering wizard
Fabrice Ramella. The CRF V6 Clutch allows precision engagement point
adjustments to transfer engine power to the car’s transmission in the most
efficient way possible.
One of the most important tuning adjustments one can make to 1/8 Buggies and
Truggies is the clutch engagement point. Standard clutches only allow a
compromise between two or three spring options to adjust the engagement
point. The CRF V6 Clutch provides infinite adjustment possibilities to allow finetuning
in any vehicle/engine combinations and any surface condition.
The CRF V6 Clutch also addresses the flaws found in other similar designs. These
designs require the clutch shoes to move forward in order for the clutch to
engage. This creates excessive stress on the clutch bearings, which can cause their
premature failure. This forward movement also exposes sensitive parts to dirt and
residue, which over time causes the clutch to bind and hinder proper function.
The CRF design eliminates forward movement of the clutch shoes. This, along with
its 6-shoe design to provide a wider contact surface area, improves consistency,
reduces wear, improves performance, and reduces lap times.
Indoor Winter Series Final Race Report
The final round of the 2005-2006 British Indoor Winter Series, sponsored by Mirage
RC Enterprises and hosted by the Sheffield District Model Car Club, took place on
29 January 2006. With this being the last round of the series, with no possibility of
dropping results from this day, every racer present was trying their best! Although
the top spots in some of the classes were probably wrapped up by Jimmy
Maddison in 19 Turn and Daniel Fallows in Modified, the second and third place
positions in both classes were far from finalised! In 19 Turn, Robert Fox and Tom
Stanway were very close on points for second position, and in the Modified class
Colin Price and Adam Hughes were exactly even on points going into the final
round! It would certainly be an exciting battle to the finish.
19 Turn
During the A Final, Tom started off from pole and
never looked back. Tom built up a wide lead and
then settled into cruise mode. At the end of
official time Tom took his first Winter Series A
Final win, wrapping up a great day with his first
run on the XRAY T2 ! Finishing in second was
Jimmy, while Robert Fox finished third. Tom
wants to thank Frank McKinney for the loan of
the race-winning T2 .
Mirage attended the London Toy Fair this year in January with an XMODS
dedicated stand that generated a lot of good business and plenty of interest in
the XMODS range from mainstream toy shops.
On show were the original XMODS line up of cars along with 8 new body styles
(available Easter) and the new XMODS Evolution range (available Summer).
This adds to the already massive model shop success achieved over the Christmas
period with local XMODS clubs popping up in schools, youth clubs and RC clubs
everywhere further helping to increase car, tuning and option part sales.
Overall, it was Jimmy Maddison taking home the biggest trophy for the series win -
the top prize of a Team Orion Platinum LiPo 4800 battery pack was popped into
his pit box for the drive home. Tom Stanway walked away with second overall
(who knows what he could have done with a T2 for the whole series!) and Robert
Fox went home with third place.
Modified
In the A Final, Dan set off at an incredible pace. Dan was the only Modified driver
able to do a 26-lap pace in five minutes of flat-out racing, and he certainly didn't
let up in the Final! Dan drove strong throughout the race and let the rest of the
field fight it out. Finishing in second was Guy Thornton while third place was
claimed by Colin Hughes.
HPI Savage X - the best gets better!
The most popular Big Block monster truck in the world ... just got even better!
So how do you make a Savage better? eXtra speed, eXtra adjustability, eXtra
toughness! The new Savage X is packed with features that have been
suggested by Savage owners: more room for the electronics, easier access to
the diffs and transmission, and more suspension adjustability. The result is
the best Savage ever!
• ’X’ Chassis
The low centre of gravity chassis drops the engine, centre gearbox and radio
5mm lower than the Savage 25, resulting in better handling and faster lap times.
Made from strong 2.5mm aluminium the TVP chassis plates are the virtually
indestructible foundations of the chassis. The TVP design makes the Savage
unique and gives it a realistic monster truck feel.
• Lightweight Suspension Arms
New lightweight suspension arms deliver quick suspension response and
reduce the overall weight of the truck. The improved design of the wishbones
ensures they keep their strength and durability.
• Adjustable Turnbuckles
Adjustable turnbuckles allow you to make quick and easy adjustments of the
front and rear toe in. So you can fine tune the handling of your truck to suit your
driving style and optimise it for the surface you're running on.
• New Shock Towers
New shock towers have three different shock mounting positions for a variety of
suspension setups. This gives you an easy way to adjust the damping
characteristics of your truck.
• Tuned Pipe With Cone
Double Chamber provides more torque and more sound dampening.
£399 .99
• F4.1 Engine
The HPI Nitro Star F4.1 is the next evolutionary step up from the proven HPI
Nitro Star S25 engine. It features a new crankcase and upgrades to the cylinder,
piston, connecting rod and crankshaft.
The F4.1 engine delivers more power, more torque and extra cooling. It is
especially designed for the high power, leaving you wanting for nothing from
your Savage X!
• Roto Start 2
Start your Savage X quickly and easily with the updated Roto Start 2 electric
starting system. The new Roto Start 2 unit will not only turn the engine, it can
also provide the power for a glow plug igniter - no extra battery for the
igniter required.
HP87130 - HPI Roto Start 2 System - £TBC
• Wheels and Tyres
New lightweight GT-2 tyres with aggressive tread pattern for excellent all-terrain
traction and long tyre life.
The new tyre design reduces the weight significantly for better performance.
To add cool looks, the GT-2 tyres are mounted and pre-glued on Chrome
Warlock wheels with tough 17mm hex hubs.
• Optional Nylon Rollcage
Included in the box is an optional nylon roll cage which will help protect your
engine and heat sink. It can be mounted with almost every Savage bodyshell
but requires additional cutting.
