<strong>HPI</strong> <strong>Racing</strong>/Friends Reunited BTCC Team Fighting for Points<br />
The <strong>HPI</strong> <strong>Racing</strong> with Friends Reunited team has been valiantly fighting for<br />
valuable championship points all season long. At just past the halfway point of<br />
the racing calendar, the team, using twin bright green and blue Lexus IS200 cars<br />
driven by Richard Williams and Ian Curley, have been battling against higherpowered<br />
factory-sponsored teams in a car that has yet to reach its full potential.<br />
In the 2005 BTCC Team Championship, the team currently sits just one point<br />
behind the 7th place team, so even a minor improvement would bump the team<br />
up a spot. In the Independents Team Trophy, <strong>HPI</strong> <strong>Racing</strong> with Friends Reunited<br />
team is doing even better, safely in 5th at the moment and just a few points<br />
behind the 4th place team.<br />

the crowd came from all over the <strong>UK</strong><br />
and they weren't disappointed with<br />
what was on offer at the show. The<br />
<strong>HPI</strong> stand was always crowded with<br />
RC enthusiasts who came to see the<br />
latest <strong>HPI</strong> kits and products or just to<br />
chat to the team. They even got to see<br />
<strong>HPI</strong> R/C cars and trucks in action in the indoor and outdoor race track, with racing<br />
and demonstration running through out the whole weekend.<br />

Near 60 feet jump sets the benchmark for the world's scale model petrolheads.<br />
Greg Hill set a world record benchmark for long-jumping a 1/8th scale radio<br />
controlled car at the NEC on Tuesday, July 12, 2005. Greg's <strong>Hot</strong> Bodies Lightning 2<br />
Pro Buggy flew through the air for 55 feet 10 inches (17.2 metres).<br />
"The time was right to set an RC jump record: radio controlled cars are one of the<br />
fastest growing hobbies in the country and everybody has done a massive jump, but<br />

"It was a real eye opener - many people still see radio controlled cars as being battery<br />
powered £19.99 jobs from toy shops that struggle to get up a ramp, let alone jump<br />
from it. But the car we used hit the bottom of the ramp at around 45mph - a scale<br />
speed of around 360mph.<br />
Mirage also set a record for a complete somersault by an RC car - 39 feet 2 inches.<br />
