The Internet<br />
At all times, the Internet is an open communication medium available to all.. The Internet<br />
is an invaluable resource for education and social interaction.<br />
Managing the Internet<br />
• Users will have access to Internet resources through the school’s ethernet and mobile<br />
Internet technology<br />
• Users must observe software copyright at all times. It is illegal to copy or distribute<br />
school software or illegal software from other sources<br />
• No personal, sensitive, confidential or classified information should be posted or<br />
disseminated in any way that may compromise its intended restricted audience<br />
• <strong>ACS</strong> will not tolerate the use of the Internet for illegal or inappropriate activities<br />
Personal Mobile Devices (including phones, tablets, cameras etc.)<br />
• The school allows the use of personal mobile phones, tablets etc. on the school<br />
premises<br />
• Visitors should be informed to use the “<strong>ACS</strong> GUEST” network in order to access the<br />
school’s wireless network..<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s are allowed to bring personal mobile devices / phones to school but must not<br />
use them for personal purposes within lesson time. Agreement from the classroom<br />
teacher should be sought before the devices are used. Mobile devices /phones must be<br />
switched to “silent mode” at all times. If this technology is to be used for educational<br />
purposes, users should check in advance with the person paying the bill<br />
• Mobile devices may be used outside of class time<br />
• The school is not responsible for the loss, damage or theft of any personal mobile<br />
device<br />
• The sending of inappropriate text messages between any members of the school<br />
community is not allowed<br />
• Permission from any member of the school community must be sought before any<br />
image or sound recordings are made on these devices<br />
• Users are responsible for ensuring that all personal devices brought into school have<br />
no inappropriate or illegal content on the device that may offend other members of<br />
the community<br />
