E: SAFETY TIPS
1. The captain is responsible for all members of the crew, as well as the boat. Please do not let
horseplay or drinking get out of hand. Diving off the top of the houseboat should be
discouraged, as well as diving near the shore. All persons should wear some type of Coast
Guard approved personal floatation device when in the water. We also recommend that all
children and non-swimmers wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times, not only on
the boat, but also anywhere around the water, which includes the marina docks.
2. Climb up and down the ladder with chest facing the ladder. Be aware the ladder may be slick
from water and suntan oils.
3. NEVER go outside the top deck railing at anytime. This includes the front platform over the
lower deck. The area beyond the fly bridge tends to be very slippery. Sitting outside the rails
is not permitted.
4. Make sure everyone is out of the water before starting your motor. ALWAYS TAKE A HEAD
COUNT BEFORE STARTING THE MOTOR.
5. Fireworks are NOT permitted on the houseboat.
F: SAFETY EQUIPMENT
1. Your houseboat is equipped with 12 Coast Guard approved life jackets. These are not for
swimming, but for emergencies. Your boat is equipped with adult size life jackets; however,
we will be happy to exchange any of these for a child’s size as needed. LIFE JACKETS ARE NOT
TO BE USED AS BOAT BUMPERS!!!
2. Your boat is equipped with 3 fire extinguishers. Be familiar with their location and operation.
3. The horn can be used to warn other boats of your presence. When backing up, sound the
horn twice.
G: WATER SLIDE
1. Turn engine and generator off before using the slide!
2. Life jacket must be worn when using the slide.
3. Before using the slide, pour a bucket of water down the slide or turn the slide pump on for ease
of sliding.
4. NEVER use the slide in shallow water, or within 20 ft. of shore.
5. Adult supervision is necessary when children are using the slide.
