It is the policy of the <strong>Salt</strong> <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>City</strong> Department of Airports to<br />

inspect aircraft storage hangars located at <strong>Salt</strong> <strong>Lake</strong><br />

<strong>International</strong> Airport, South Valley Regional Airport, <strong>and</strong><br />

Tooele Valley Airport in a consistent <strong>and</strong> equitable manner.<br />

– Representative from the Airport Fire Department<br />

A Hangar Inspection Checklist is completed <strong>and</strong> filed by<br />

Airport Properties with input <strong>and</strong> guidance from Airport<br />

Operations <strong>and</strong> a Representative from the Airport Fire<br />

Department<br />

Hangar Compliance Checklist<br />

1) Hangar should be kept clear of all rubbish, oily rags, <strong>and</strong> debris.<br />

2) “<strong>General</strong> Storage” of any Non-<strong>Aviation</strong> related item(s) is prohibited.<br />

3) Storage of Automobiles, Engines, Parts, Accessories, etc. is prohibited.<br />

4) Storage of ATV’s, Motorcycles, Boats, Trailers, etc. is prohibited.<br />

5) Fire Extinguisher rated to a minimum 2A20BC must be mounted to a stationary object near the<br />

hangar door.<br />

6) The use of extension cord(s) in a permanent capacity is prohibited (unplug daily).<br />

7) All Propane <strong>and</strong> other “Open Flame” heating devices are prohibited (electric<br />

Heaters, ONLY when attended).<br />

8) Use of detergents for the purpose of washing aircraft in the hangar, or on the apron, is<br />

prohibited.<br />

9) Oil Drip Pan must be present under each Aircraft engine.<br />

10) Storage of Flammables <strong>and</strong>/or Explosives is strictly prohibited.<br />

11) The use of your hangar for “Commercial” Aircraft repair is prohibited.<br />

12) Painting or Doping of Aircraft inside the hangar is strictly prohibited.<br />

14) Revocation of Use - 16.12.120 Revocation of Use Privilege: “Any person refusing (failing) to<br />

comply with this title of airport rules <strong>and</strong> regulations may be removed from the airport upon order of<br />

the director <strong>and</strong> may be deprived of further use of the airport <strong>and</strong> its facilities.”<br />
