Donations The Packers are proud to support thousands of fundraising efforts across the state of Wisconsin. In 2012, more than 10,500 requests were submitted for consideration. Donated items raised more than $3 million to assist with the costs of providing services to those in need. Separate cash donations to local non-profit organizations exceeded $5 million during this same time period. Those interested in requesting a donation to benefit a non-profit organization in Wisconsin must apply online at packers.com/ community/donations.html. Applications submitted a minimum of six weeks in advance of the event will be considered. Community Quarterback Awards Since 2000, many of Wisconsin’s volunteers have been nominated and selected to receive the Green Bay Packers Community Quarterback Award. Ten more recipients were added to the list in 2012. With the support of Humana Inc., each recipient received a $4,000 grant in the name of the non-profit organization for which they volunteer their time. In addition, Humana provided each recipient two tickets to a game at Lambeau Field and two passes to the MVP tent. All recipients were recognized for their efforts during halftime, as well as during a luncheon held for them at Lambeau Field. Community Events Grants For nearly a decade, the Packers have awarded four grants annually to non-profit organizations located in Brown County that host events at Lambeau Field. This year’s chosen recipients were ASPIRO, Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, P.E.O. Sisterhood – Green Bay Reciprocity and St. Vincent Hospital. Wish Granting Last season, the Packers were honored to grant the wishes of 16 children and young adults through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During each visit, the guest of honor has the opportunity to tour Lambeau Field, watch practice, dine with the team and share some very special one-on-one time with their favorite players. The Packers’ players, coaches and staff work diligently to make certain each visit is a positive and memorable experience for their special guests. Military Support and NFL Charities National Partnership Fund Grant The Packers remain committed to honoring the men and women of the United States military who have or are currently serving their country. In an effort to do so, the Packers send hundreds of military care packages and messages of support each year. In addition, and as the result of a grant from NFL Charities, the Packers were pleased to make a $5,000 donation to the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs for its new Medal of Honor memorial. The grant was presented by several Packers alumni at an unveiling ceremony for the monument, located at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. This was the first major monument built in Wisconsin to honor the 62 Medal of Honor award recipients with Wisconsin ties. Green Bay Packers Foundation Grants The Green Bay Packers Foundation awarded a record-setting $450,000 to 145 civic and charitable groups throughout the state of Wisconsin in its annual distribution of grants. Representatives from the groups were guests at a luncheon at Lambeau Field, where they were honored for their outstanding efforts and services. Non-profit organizations located in Wisconsin interested in applying for a grant can apply online March 1 to July 1 at packers.com/community/packers-foundation.html.
