Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari RA reported: 

The Messenger of Allah (PBUh) said, 

“when a slave’s child dies, Allah the 

Most high asks his angels, `have you 

taken out the life of the child of My 

slave?” They reply in the affirmative. 

he then asks, `have you taken the 

fruit of his heart?’ They reply in the 

affirmative. Thereupon he asks, `what 

has My slave said?’ They say: `he has 

praised you and said: Inna lillahi wa 

inna ilaihi raji`un (we belong to Allah 

and to him we shall be returned). 

Allah says: `Build a house for My slave 

in Jannah and name it as Bait-ulhamd 

(the house of Praise).’’’

Mom, dad, older-sister Taleen and baby Adam 

are doing fine. Alhamdulillah. 

Congratulations to wafik and Maha Mizyed on 

the arrival of their adorable baby boy, Ismail Mizyed. 

Ismail was born January 11, 2010, 8lbs 

13 oz and 21 inches long. Ismail and his mom 

are both doing well Alhamdulillah. 

Ghadah and Ziyad Zeidan would like to announce 

the birth of their healthy twin boys;

Mother, babies and entire family are happy and

Academy is in full swing. exterior is complete!! 

All brickwork has been finalized and 

the roof and glass was recently installed.

to complete the project are quickly diminishing.

stop! don’t allow the project to come to a 

halt. Insha’Allah, now is the time to fulfill 

your pledges and donations. 

Property Tax Appeals 

If you live in Cook County, your recent property 

tax bill more then likely has increased. on 

february 11, 2010 The Arab American democratic 

Club sponsored an outreach tax seminar 

at the Prayer Center. Both Commissioners 

Brendan houlihan and Joseph Berrios, along 

with their staff were on hand to assist individuals 

to appeal their property taxes. 

The event was well received. over 200 property 

owners attend the seminar and filed the 

required forms to appeal their taxes. The staff 

Members answered all of their questions and 

assisted them all in properly completing the 

tax forms. 

Congratulations to walid and sana Mizyed on 

the birth of their baby boy, othman Mizyed. 

othaman was born december 4, 2009. Mom 

and baby are in good health Alhamdulillah.

The swIfT Interfaith dinner has been scheduled 

for March 07, 2010 at the frankfort 

Mosque. The theme of the dinner will be: 

“swIfT: PAsT, PResenT, fUTURe - why Are 

we here This evening” - a discussion on how 

our interfaith work and goals can be applied to 

the real world. 

The special Guest will be Rev Jim young - one 

of the initial founders of swIfT. he will be the 

recipient of this year’s swIfT faith in humanity 

Award. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased 

in advance. no tickets will be sold at

on how our faith group views Prophets

The Prayer Center recently hosted two very 

inspiriting Master lecture series. 

> Towards a Prophetic Community: In the 

shade of the Prophet’s legacy - by sheikh 

yaser Birjas 

on January 16, 2010, shk yaser discussed 

the life of RasulAllah (peace be upon him) in 

relation to his vision in Mecca and Medina. he 

discussed how RasulAllah built and prepared 

for the future of his Ummah. 

> our Approach to the Quran 

- by wisam sharieff 

on february 13, 2010, wisam sharieff from 

Bayyinah Institute, discussed “our Approach to 

the Quran.” 

Bro wisam gave examples from the holy 

Quran – reflecting on its majestic beauty. It 

was an inspiring evening – and beneficial to

Students Shine at Annual AIA 

(Frankfort Masjid) Quran 

Recitation & Adhan Competition 

AIA weekend Islamic school in frankfort held 

the final Round of its annual Quran Recitation 

& Adhan Competition on sunday feb 14th. A 

panel of 3-Judges scored the students on their 

fluency, delivery and Tajweed for their recitations. 

one of the judges included sheikh Abdussalaam 

of oPPC. 

There was a large turnout of students and 

parents - and all present were inspired by the 

dedication of the young people of the community 

to learn and to perfect the reading of the 

holy Quran. May Allah reward them all!.

neither sincerity nor is based on 

following the righteous examples

3. Money that is hoarded, 

as the owner neither enjoys it 

during this life nor obtains any 

reward for it in the hereafter 

4. The heart that is empty 

of love and longing for Allah, and 

of seeking closeness to him 

5. A body that does not obey and serve Allah 

6. loving Allah without following his orders or seeking his pleasure 

7. Time that is not spent in expiating sins or seizing opportunities to 

do good

8. A mind that thinks about useless matters 

9. serving those who do not bring you close to Allah, nor benefit you 

in your life 

10. hoping and fearing whoever is under the authority of Allah and in 

his hand; while he cannot bring any benefit or harm to himself, nor 

death, nor life; nor can he resurrect himself. 

however the greater of these matters are wasting the heart and wasting 

time. wasting the heart is done by preferring this worldly life over the 

hereafter, and wasting time is done by having incessant hope. destruction 

occurs by following one’s desires and having incessant hope, while all 

goodness is found in following the right path and preparing oneself to 

meet Allah. 

how strange it is that when a servant of Allah has a [worldly] problem, 

he seeks help of Allah, but he never asks Allah to cure his heart before 

it dies of ignorance, neglect, fulfilling one’s desires and being involved 

in innovations. Indeed, when the heart dies, he will never feel the 

significance or impact of his sins. 

“whoever is kind, Allah will be kind to 

him; therefore be kind to man on the 

earth. he who is in heaven will show 

mercy on you.”(Abu daud: Tirmidhi) 

“It is difficult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path, that 

leads to bliss.” (Muslim) 

“who are the learned? Those who 

practice what they know.” (Bukhari)

“once a man, who was passing 

through a road, found a branch of a 

tree with thorns obstructing it. The 

man removed the thorns from the 

way. Allah thanked him and forgave 

his sins.” (Bukhari) 

“Allah has revealed to me, that you must be humble. no one should boast

orland Muslim Girls (oMG) had their 2nd year volunteering at sunrise senior living in Palos heights on saturday, 

January 16, 2010. The girls had a joyful experience assisting the seniors play Bingo. The seniors were pleasantly 

surprise to receive beautiful roses from our oMG girls. we gave dars regarding respecting our elders and than prayed 

Asr. The orland Muslim Girls enjoyed the seniors company and said they would love to come back and volunteer again.
