Overall, sales increased by 58%, although there were disparities between the various activities and markets. More affected than in Canada or Latin America, the construction market in the United States has been slow to show signs of recovery despite an upturn in rental orders at year end, leaving hope for better developments in 2011. This also resulted in better performances in sales of skidsteers, which are very popular in the North American market, compared with those of telescopic forklifts. Boosted by rising milk and cereal prices, the agricultural market, on the other hand, has experienced good
growth across all of North America, including Canada and Latin America. In the networks, dealers recorded historically low levels of inventories, with a strong positive impact on their profitability.
