Injecting new blood into the<br />

Welsh male voice choir tradition,<br />

Only Men Aloud perform a varied<br />

and eclectic repertoire from<br />

Welsh folksongs and hymns to<br />

musicals and opera. The choir<br />

won the BBC’s Last Choir Standing<br />

in the summer of 2008, and<br />

released their debut album<br />

shortly afterwards, which went<br />

gold in the UK.<br />

George Fenton’s work in film and television has seen<br />

him score for over 100 films and collaborate with<br />

some of the most influential filmmakers in the UK.<br />

His ambitious and masterful approach to music is most<br />

recognised in the BBC landmark series The Blue Planet,<br />

Planet Earth and Frozen Planet, for which he has won<br />

numerous awards including a BAFTA and Emmy award<br />

for Best Television Score. His most recent scores<br />

include Stephen Frears’ latest film Muhammad Ali’s<br />

Greatest Fight, the music for Ken Loach’s film The Spirit<br />

of ’45 and the hugely successful Untold Stories by Alan<br />

Bennett, which has recently moved to the West End.<br />

Fenton is five times Oscar nominated.<br />

BAFTA nominated and Oscar winning composer<br />

Dario Marianelli’s iconic scores have provided a<br />

soundtrack to some of the most celebrated British<br />

films over the last 10 years. Feature films including<br />

Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, V for Vendetta<br />

and Jane Eyre have seen him work with a number<br />

of prominent directors, most notably British director<br />

Joe Wright for whom he has scored four films. His<br />

most recent collaboration with Wright for Anna<br />

Karenina earned him Academy Award, BAFTA and<br />

Golden Globe nominations as well as an Ivor Novello<br />

Award for Best Original Film Score.<br />

Born in Brussels of Anglo-<br />

Egyptian parentage, Natacha<br />

Atlas’s multicultural background<br />

and experiences have helped<br />

shape her trademark sound which<br />

seamlessly bridges musical and<br />

cultural divides. She has gained<br />

widespread recognition for her<br />

successful pioneering meld of<br />

Western and Eastern music, and<br />

specifically her use of cuttingedge<br />

electronic beats with Arabic<br />

melodies and instrumentation.<br />

Festival celebrating Middle Eastern<br />
