G.R.E.A.T. classes are currently taught at Piedmont Ave. School
and Parker Elementary School. We would like to offer the G.R.E.
A.T. Program to every sixth and eighth grade student in
Oakland.

"Thank You" to First
Responders
On Sunday, April 18th
the Beautiful Claremont
Hotel and Resort hosted
a "First Responders
Thank You" Italian Buffet
and swim party for the
Oakland Police and
Oakland Fire
Departments. OFD had a
great turn out of about 20 representatives in uniform to share in
the Italian flavors of lunch, which included salmon, chicken
breast with polenta, tortellini with spinach, Caesar salad, focaccia
bread and an assortment of deserts.
The weather was sunny and hot which made for a fun filled day
in the pools for the children as well as the adults. I was pleased
to see Deputy Chief Jeff Israel
with his son, Sgt. Blair
Alexanderwith his wife, son, and
daughter as well as his mother inlaw;
Sgt. Shawn Knight with his
wife and two sons, Officer Lupe
Chacon with her husband, son,
and bun in the oven along with
Police Records Specialist
Cynthia Castellanos, Dispatcher Regina Gillard with her
husband and daughter; and Officer John Low with his wife and
three daughters.
