Deb offers workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies in mosaic for all ability levels.<br />

Whenever possible, curricular, community, envir<strong>on</strong>mental, or other<br />

process issues are used to create mosaic designs. Workshops <strong>and</strong><br />

residencies ranging from 1 day to several m<strong>on</strong>ths culminate in a<br />

large-scale, participant-created mosaic.<br />

Joe's programs in traditi<strong>on</strong>al woodworking, sculpture, puppetry,<br />

mask making <strong>and</strong> architectural model making can be presented as<br />

st<strong>and</strong>-al<strong>on</strong>e workshops or multi-day residencies, <strong>and</strong> may be<br />

combined with outdoor aboriginal skills-building. Students learn<br />

valuable practical skills & creative problem solving, <strong>and</strong> build<br />

c<strong>on</strong>fidence <strong>and</strong> self-esteem. Curricular c<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong>s include:<br />

American history, world <strong>and</strong> Native American culture, science,<br />

math, literature <strong>and</strong> more.<br />

Anne specializes in group performance, masks, giant puppets,<br />

sculptural paper mache, <strong>and</strong> kinetic sculpture or automata made<br />

from recycled materials. Residencies may include group <strong>and</strong><br />

individual art projects with curriculum tie-ins to language arts,<br />

math, <strong>and</strong> social studies. Students learn community-building<br />

through teamwork, problem-solving, <strong>and</strong> performance.<br />

Kristin designs mural programs that inspire participants to the<br />

creative process. Participants learn how artwork <strong>and</strong> ideas can<br />

positively influence others, <strong>and</strong> gain self-worth while bringing<br />

beauty to their surroundings. Mural programs may include<br />

journaling, discussi<strong>on</strong>, critique, brainstorming, <strong>and</strong> self-reflecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Murals can be formatted <strong>and</strong> designed to address specific Learning<br />

C<strong>on</strong>tent St<strong>and</strong>ards in collaborati<strong>on</strong> with teacher <strong>and</strong> school goals.<br />

Anne offers school <strong>and</strong> museum workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies tailored<br />

to meet the goals of the presenting organizati<strong>on</strong>. A less<strong>on</strong> plan can<br />

be coordinated with a unit in social studies <strong>and</strong>/or language arts, as<br />

well as exhibiti<strong>on</strong>s in museum settings. Emphasis is placed <strong>on</strong> the<br />

art-making process as well as the end product. Pre-planning with<br />

presenters is a must.

opportunities. Workshops encompass a multi-faceted approach to<br />

digital media while integrating storytelling, creative writing <strong>and</strong><br />

dramatic arts.<br />

Judith, a dance, visual, <strong>and</strong> expressive artist is expert in crafting a<br />

space where people of all ages <strong>and</strong> abilities discover their creativity!<br />

Workshops, residencies, <strong>and</strong> professi<strong>on</strong>al development engage<br />

students, patients, <strong>and</strong> community members through mask, visual<br />

arts, the written & spoken word, creative movement, <strong>and</strong> imagery.<br />

Thomas provides h<strong>and</strong>s-<strong>on</strong>, <strong>on</strong>e-day to two-week residencies<br />

relating photography to art, science, <strong>and</strong> history. He turns a<br />

classroom into a giant camera obscura <strong>and</strong> instructs students as<br />

they build their own pinhole cameras using simple materials, <strong>and</strong><br />

then load, shoot, <strong>and</strong> develop an image resulting in unique works of<br />

art. Master classes <strong>and</strong> workshops are available for universities <strong>and</strong><br />

professi<strong>on</strong>al development.<br />

Maureen offers programs in mask making, painting <strong>on</strong> fabric/tiles,<br />

bookmaking, watercolor, <strong>and</strong> reproducing masterpieces from<br />

museums. Workshops explore literary works through art, integrate<br />

museum resources into a visual arts curriculum through visiting<br />

exhibits/permanent collecti<strong>on</strong>s, <strong>and</strong> build visual-thinking skills that<br />

c<strong>on</strong>nect art c<strong>on</strong>tent to academic c<strong>on</strong>text.<br />

Mark provides workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies for learners of all ages in<br />

visual arts. The residency focus may be process- or productoriented,<br />

<strong>and</strong> may include traditi<strong>on</strong>al arts or electr<strong>on</strong>ic media.<br />

Workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies provide strategies that encourage<br />

creativity, meeting state <strong>and</strong> district st<strong>and</strong>ards through artsintegrati<strong>on</strong><br />

with other curricular disciplines.<br />

Dana offers instructi<strong>on</strong> in arts-based, multimedia technology.<br />

Residencies include s<strong>on</strong>gwriting, Garage B<strong>and</strong> recording technology,<br />

iMovie, Adobe Photoshop, digital photography, fine art, <strong>and</strong> creative<br />

writing. Traveling with her own laptops, headph<strong>on</strong>es, <strong>and</strong> digital<br />

Rosemary’s residencies include printmaking, weaving, organic<br />

masks, <strong>and</strong> mobiles. She uses a variety of mixed media, placing<br />

emphasis <strong>on</strong> the creative process, imaginati<strong>on</strong>, <strong>and</strong> emoti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Rosemary inspires students <strong>and</strong> teachers alike to facilitate their<br />

own extensi<strong>on</strong>s for future explorati<strong>on</strong> <strong>and</strong> independent learning.<br />

Sanna offers Author/Illustrator presentati<strong>on</strong>s, residencies, &<br />

workshops in narrative writing, pers<strong>on</strong>al storytelling, illustrati<strong>on</strong>,<br />

collage, poetry, or expository writing for students of all ages. She<br />

collaborates with teachers to address Comm<strong>on</strong> Core goals, <strong>and</strong><br />

through active listening, critical thinking, predicting, imagining <strong>and</strong><br />

synthesizing, she models how she thinks as a writer <strong>and</strong> artist.<br />

Susan offers workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies in visual arts <strong>and</strong><br />

expressive arts therapies. Her murals, mosaics, banner, <strong>and</strong> oil<br />

drum projects focus <strong>on</strong> social themes such as the envir<strong>on</strong>ment <strong>and</strong><br />

world peace. Residencies integrate language arts, music, social<br />

studies, <strong>and</strong> physical educati<strong>on</strong>, <strong>and</strong> include community <strong>and</strong><br />

creativity skills building.<br />

Anna provides workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies in architecture <strong>and</strong> design<br />

(urban, interior, graphic, <strong>and</strong> industrial) for grades K-12. She uses<br />

these disciplines as a real world problem-solving approach to<br />

integrate math, science, <strong>and</strong> social studies learning in order to<br />

create state st<strong>and</strong>ards-based Science Technology Engineering <strong>and</strong><br />

Math (STEM) less<strong>on</strong>s <strong>and</strong> foster students' sense of how their<br />

community operates <strong>and</strong> how they can participate.<br />

Roxanne offers arts integrated workshops <strong>and</strong> residencies in<br />

printmaking, drawing, <strong>and</strong> mixed media. She links language arts,<br />

science, <strong>and</strong> social studies with mark making, bookmaking, <strong>and</strong><br />

printmaking. She inspires the spirit of fearless art making with<br />

critical thinking <strong>and</strong> self-assessment. Roxanne custom designs<br />

projects for schools, libraries, art centers, <strong>and</strong> museums.<br />

Beth is a veteran, energetic <strong>and</strong> talented teacher <strong>and</strong> sculptor who<br />

has taught preschoolers <strong>and</strong> adults throughout <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>necticut</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>and</strong><br />

New York. Each residency is an active interchange of ideas,<br />

knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills that represents the needs of the classroom<br />

teachers, students, materials being used <strong>and</strong> the artistic skills <strong>and</strong><br />

Dr. Tremblay teaches in-school residencies for grades K-12 that<br />

integrate Art into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering <strong>and</strong><br />

Math) curricula targeted to meet state <strong>and</strong> district st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

Through multiple intelligences, he engages students with activities<br />

that str<strong>on</strong>gly relate STEM subjects to student interests in<br />

computers, digital media, <strong>and</strong> the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Arts</str<strong>on</strong>g>. He also gives teacher<br />

workshops <strong>and</strong> public workshops <strong>and</strong> lectures for all ages.<br />

Christine is well-versed in many media, <strong>and</strong> some of her resident<br />

artist projects include: 1) Glass tile murals depicting school <strong>and</strong><br />

community life, 2) A toy theater of “Your Carb<strong>on</strong> Footprint,” 3)<br />

“Aliens” - individual multi-media creatures each indigenous to a<br />

specific planet, <strong>and</strong> 4) A school’s main hall transformed into a minicity<br />

entitled “Making A Difference.”<br />

Linda teaches children ages 4-11 in schools, art centers, museums,<br />

<strong>and</strong> homeless shelters how to use needle, thread, <strong>and</strong> fabric to<br />

create a unique piece of art from their imaginati<strong>on</strong>. Each sessi<strong>on</strong> is<br />

<strong>on</strong>e hour, <strong>and</strong> each piece of art can take from two to four sessi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

to complete. The goal is to create a piece of art that can be related<br />

to a specific unit of the curriculum, or as an art project, can be<br />

created from the heart <strong>and</strong> imaginati<strong>on</strong> of the child.<br />
