Beckwith <strong>Township</strong>: 18 Calls for Service<br />
10 JAN 10 – 8:35 pm – Highway 7 – Theft – report <strong>of</strong> items taken from a construction site.<br />
Investigation is continuing.<br />
12 JAN 10 – 2:45 pm – Highway 15 – Traffic Enforcement - Driver st<strong>opp</strong>ed for speeding and<br />
charged with Race Motor vehicle for exceeding 50 km / hr over <strong>the</strong> speed limit. A 25 year old<br />
Portland man is charged with Race Motor vehicle.<br />
13 JAN 10 – 6:30 pm – Lake Park Dr – Theft – suspect(s) gained entry to a locked outdoor shed<br />
and removed a 372 Husqvarna Chainsaw, Husqvarna Chainsaw (around <strong>the</strong> 50cc range),<br />
Husqvarna trimmer 235, Husqvarna leaf blower , Sub zero ice auger,Yamaha generator<br />
and Echo hedge trimmer. No suspects.<br />
Carleton Place: 81 Calls for Service<br />
09 JAN 10 – 11:15 pm – Townline Rd - Mischief – residence window was broken by a snowball.<br />
10 JAN 10 – 1:40 am – Sarah St - Impaired / Theft – vehicle st<strong>opp</strong>ed for driving erratically on<br />
Sarah Street. A 25 year old Carleton Place man was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving,<br />
Over 80, Drive Disqualified and Theft Under $5000 <strong>of</strong> a Motor Vehicle contrary to <strong>the</strong> Criminal<br />
Code.<br />
10 JAN 10 – 2:30 pm – Beckwith St – RIDE – 40 vehicles checked and 1 Highway Traffic Act<br />
charge and 1 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charge<br />
10 JAN 10 – 6:40 pm – Maple Lane – Theft from vehicle – Purse stolen from vehicle and credit<br />
cards used. Investigation is continuing.<br />
11 JAN 10 – 10:15 pm – Industrial Ave – RIDE – 10 vehicles checked and no notable incidents<br />
12 JAN 10 – 6:25 am – Lake Ave E – Liquor Licence Act – a 44 year old Carleton Place male<br />
was arrested and charged for public intoxication.<br />
13 JAN 10 – 12:15 am – Beckwith St – RIDE – 9 vehicles checked and no notable incidents<br />
13 JAN 10 – 12:30 pm – John St – Theft – Licence plate was stolen from a vehicle. No suspects<br />
14 JAN 10 – 8:50 am – Bruce Cr - Theft from vehicle - suspect(s) entered vehicle and removed a<br />
Samsung video camera worth approximately $450.00. No suspects.
Central Frontenac <strong>Township</strong>: 38 Calls for Service.<br />
09 Jan 10 – 11:30 PM – Road 38 – RIDE – 9 vehicles checked with no warnings or charges.<br />
09 Jan 10 – 12:30 AM – Hwy # 7 – RIDE – 72 vehicles checked with 2 HTA charges.<br />
10 Jan 10 – 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM – Motor vehicle <strong>the</strong>ft and <strong>the</strong>ft <strong>of</strong> tools – A Westport Road<br />
resident had his brown 2003 Pontiac Montana mini van stolen along with a mig welder, arc<br />
welder, chainsaw, drill press, chop saw and a tool box full <strong>of</strong> hand tools. The van has a serial<br />
number <strong>of</strong> 1GMDX03E33D150228. Investigation is ongoing.<br />
14 Jan 10 – 2:00 PM – St Georges Lake Road – A residential fire destroyed a home while <strong>the</strong><br />
owners were not at home. Investigation by police and <strong>the</strong> fire marshal’s <strong>of</strong>fice revealed nothing<br />
suspicious.<br />
13 Jan 10 – 10:00 PM – Road 38 – RIDE – 1 vehicle checked with no warnings or charges.<br />
14 Jan 10 – 2:30 PM – Stinchcombe Road – Pigs were herded <strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> roadway by police while<br />
neighbours located <strong>the</strong> owner who took care <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> run away pigs. No collisions were involved<br />
with this incident.<br />
North Frontenac <strong>Township</strong>: 3 Calls for Service.<br />
Drummond North Elmsley <strong>Township</strong>: 18 Calls for Service<br />
08 to14 Jan 2010 – Four motor vehicle collisions, four traffic complaints, and three traffic<br />
enforcement occurrences were investigated which included no drivers licence, no insurance /<br />
misuse <strong>of</strong> licence plates and two suspended drivers.<br />
Lanark Highlands <strong>Township</strong>: 20 Calls for Service.<br />
11 Jan 10 – 5:00 PM – Mitchell Road – A drug search warrant was executed by police and<br />
$67,000.00 worth <strong>of</strong> marijuana was seized, along with 7 firearms and drug related paraphernalia.<br />
Fifty year old Larry MUNRO <strong>of</strong> Lanark Highlands <strong>Township</strong> is charged with 2 counts <strong>of</strong><br />
Careless Use <strong>of</strong> Firearm, Possession <strong>of</strong> a Schedule II Substance for <strong>the</strong> Purpose <strong>of</strong> Trafficking<br />
Over 3 kg – CDSA 5(2) and Possession <strong>of</strong> a Schedule II Substance Over 30 grams – CDSA 4(1).<br />
MUNRO is to appear in Perth Provincial Court on March 16, 2010.<br />
08 Jan 10 – 3:00 PM – OPP were advised <strong>of</strong> an erratic driver in <strong>the</strong> Village <strong>of</strong> Lanark driving a<br />
blue Nissan Pick up truck. OPP located <strong>the</strong> pick up truck and activated <strong>the</strong>ir emergency lights and<br />
siren in an attempt to stop <strong>the</strong> vehicle. The vehicle did not stop for police and continued out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
village on County Road 12. After several kilometres, OPP managed to safely stop <strong>the</strong> vehicle by<br />
blocking it in with police vehicles. The driver and a twelve year old male passenger were<br />
subsequently arrested. There was minimal damage and no injuries with this incident.<br />
As a result 34 year old Derek COUTTS <strong>of</strong> Tay Valley <strong>Township</strong> is charged with Dangerous<br />
Driving and Failing to Stop for Police contrary to <strong>the</strong> Criminal Code. COUTTS is also charged<br />
with Drive while Suspended, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle contrary to <strong>the</strong> Highway<br />
Traffic Act and No Insurance contrary to <strong>the</strong> Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The young<br />
male was released unconditionally and taken home.<br />
COUTTS was held in custody for a bail hearing in Perth on Monday 11 January, 2010.
10 Jan 10 – 1:00 PM – Hwy # 7 – RIDE – 423 vehicles checked with several HTA warnings.<br />
12 Jan 10 - 4:00 PM – Forbes Road – A vehicle in <strong>the</strong> ditch lead police to charge a 50 year old<br />
Lanark Highlands man with Drive Disqualified contrary to <strong>the</strong> Criminal Code. His vehicle was<br />
seized for 45 days. The accused has a February 8 th court date in Perth Provincial Court.<br />
Montague <strong>Township</strong>: 11 Calls for Service<br />
09 JAN 10 – 8:05 pm – Harper Condie Rd - Suspicious Person – a report <strong>of</strong> a suspicious vehicle<br />
that was located and checked by police. No fur<strong>the</strong>r action.<br />
Town <strong>of</strong> Mississippi Mills: 50 Calls for service<br />
09 JAN 10 – 12:05 am – Main St E – Theft – Youth attended convenience store and stole some<br />
food. Investigation is continuing.<br />
09 JAN10 – 1:40 pm – Appleton Side Rd – RIDE – 12 Snow machines checked, no charges<br />
09 JAN 10 - 2:30 pm - 4 th Con Pakenham – Suspicious Person - two snowmobile drivers<br />
observed with having <strong>the</strong>ir firearms not in cases while transporting <strong>the</strong>m. The area was patrolled<br />
by snowmobile with negative results.<br />
09 JAN 10 – 3:10 pm – Wellington St – Mischief – Suspect(s) cut phone line on <strong>the</strong> outside <strong>of</strong> a<br />
residence. No suspects.<br />
09 JAN 10 – 11:45 pm – County Rd 29 – RIDE – 47 vehicles checked, no notable incidents<br />
11 JAN 10 – 4:00 pm – Drummond Side Rd – RIDE – 65 vehicles checked, no notable incidents<br />
11 JAN 10 – 9:40 pm – County RD 29 / Waba Rd – RIDE - 45 vehicles checked, 3 roadside tests<br />
and on Highway Traffic Act charge.<br />
13 JAN 10 – 7:55 pm – Ottawa St – Traffic Enforcement – traffic stop and a 53 year old<br />
Mississippi Mills man is charged with Drive While Under Suspension<br />
Tay Valley <strong>Township</strong>: 13 Calls for Service.<br />
08 Jan 10 – 7 th Con Bathurst – RIDE – 14 vehicles and 1 snow machine checked with 1 HTA<br />
warning.<br />
08 to 14 Jan 10 – Three motor vehicle collisions, one traffic complaint and 1 three day suspension<br />
were investigated during this period.
