Beckwith Township: 18 Calls for Service
10 JAN 10 – 8:35 pm – Highway 7 – Theft – report of items taken from a construction site.
Investigation is continuing.
12 JAN 10 – 2:45 pm – Highway 15 – Traffic Enforcement - Driver stopped for speeding and
charged with Race Motor vehicle for exceeding 50 km / hr over the speed limit. A 25 year old
Portland man is charged with Race Motor vehicle.
13 JAN 10 – 6:30 pm – Lake Park Dr – Theft – suspect(s) gained entry to a locked outdoor shed
and removed a 372 Husqvarna Chainsaw, Husqvarna Chainsaw (around the 50cc range),
Husqvarna trimmer 235, Husqvarna leaf blower , Sub zero ice auger,Yamaha generator
and Echo hedge trimmer. No suspects.
Carleton Place: 81 Calls for Service
09 JAN 10 – 11:15 pm – Townline Rd - Mischief – residence window was broken by a snowball.
10 JAN 10 – 1:40 am – Sarah St - Impaired / Theft – vehicle stopped for driving erratically on
Sarah Street. A 25 year old Carleton Place man was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving,
Over 80, Drive Disqualified and Theft Under $5000 of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal
Code.
10 JAN 10 – 2:30 pm – Beckwith St – RIDE – 40 vehicles checked and 1 Highway Traffic Act
charge and 1 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charge
10 JAN 10 – 6:40 pm – Maple Lane – Theft from vehicle – Purse stolen from vehicle and credit
cards used. Investigation is continuing.
11 JAN 10 – 10:15 pm – Industrial Ave – RIDE – 10 vehicles checked and no notable incidents
12 JAN 10 – 6:25 am – Lake Ave E – Liquor Licence Act – a 44 year old Carleton Place male
was arrested and charged for public intoxication.
13 JAN 10 – 12:15 am – Beckwith St – RIDE – 9 vehicles checked and no notable incidents
13 JAN 10 – 12:30 pm – John St – Theft – Licence plate was stolen from a vehicle. No suspects
14 JAN 10 – 8:50 am – Bruce Cr - Theft from vehicle - suspect(s) entered vehicle and removed a
Samsung video camera worth approximately $450.00. No suspects.

Central Frontenac Township: 38 Calls for Service.
09 Jan 10 – 11:30 PM – Road 38 – RIDE – 9 vehicles checked with no warnings or charges.
09 Jan 10 – 12:30 AM – Hwy # 7 – RIDE – 72 vehicles checked with 2 HTA charges.
10 Jan 10 – 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM – Motor vehicle theft and theft of tools – A Westport Road
resident had his brown 2003 Pontiac Montana mini van stolen along with a mig welder, arc
welder, chainsaw, drill press, chop saw and a tool box full of hand tools. The van has a serial
number of 1GMDX03E33D150228. Investigation is ongoing.
14 Jan 10 – 2:00 PM – St Georges Lake Road – A residential fire destroyed a home while the
owners were not at home. Investigation by police and the fire marshal’s office revealed nothing
suspicious.
13 Jan 10 – 10:00 PM – Road 38 – RIDE – 1 vehicle checked with no warnings or charges.
14 Jan 10 – 2:30 PM – Stinchcombe Road – Pigs were herded off the roadway by police while
neighbours located the owner who took care of the run away pigs. No collisions were involved
with this incident.
North Frontenac Township: 3 Calls for Service.
Drummond North Elmsley Township: 18 Calls for Service
08 to14 Jan 2010 – Four motor vehicle collisions, four traffic complaints, and three traffic
enforcement occurrences were investigated which included no drivers licence, no insurance /
misuse of licence plates and two suspended drivers.
Lanark Highlands Township: 20 Calls for Service.
11 Jan 10 – 5:00 PM – Mitchell Road – A drug search warrant was executed by police and
$67,000.00 worth of marijuana was seized, along with 7 firearms and drug related paraphernalia.
Fifty year old Larry MUNRO of Lanark Highlands Township is charged with 2 counts of
Careless Use of Firearm, Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Over 3 kg – CDSA 5(2) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance Over 30 grams – CDSA 4(1).
MUNRO is to appear in Perth Provincial Court on March 16, 2010.
08 Jan 10 – 3:00 PM – OPP were advised of an erratic driver in the Village of Lanark driving a
blue Nissan Pick up truck. OPP located the pick up truck and activated their emergency lights and
siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop for police and continued out of the
village on County Road 12. After several kilometres, OPP managed to safely stop the vehicle by
blocking it in with police vehicles. The driver and a twelve year old male passenger were
subsequently arrested. There was minimal damage and no injuries with this incident.
As a result 34 year old Derek COUTTS of Tay Valley Township is charged with Dangerous
Driving and Failing to Stop for Police contrary to the Criminal Code. COUTTS is also charged
with Drive while Suspended, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle contrary to the Highway
Traffic Act and No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The young
male was released unconditionally and taken home.
COUTTS was held in custody for a bail hearing in Perth on Monday 11 January, 2010.

10 Jan 10 – 1:00 PM – Hwy # 7 – RIDE – 423 vehicles checked with several HTA warnings.
12 Jan 10 - 4:00 PM – Forbes Road – A vehicle in the ditch lead police to charge a 50 year old
Lanark Highlands man with Drive Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code. His vehicle was
seized for 45 days. The accused has a February 8 th court date in Perth Provincial Court.
Montague Township: 11 Calls for Service
09 JAN 10 – 8:05 pm – Harper Condie Rd - Suspicious Person – a report of a suspicious vehicle
that was located and checked by police. No further action.
Town of Mississippi Mills: 50 Calls for service
09 JAN 10 – 12:05 am – Main St E – Theft – Youth attended convenience store and stole some
food. Investigation is continuing.
09 JAN10 – 1:40 pm – Appleton Side Rd – RIDE – 12 Snow machines checked, no charges
09 JAN 10 - 2:30 pm - 4 th Con Pakenham – Suspicious Person - two snowmobile drivers
observed with having their firearms not in cases while transporting them. The area was patrolled
by snowmobile with negative results.
09 JAN 10 – 3:10 pm – Wellington St – Mischief – Suspect(s) cut phone line on the outside of a
residence. No suspects.
09 JAN 10 – 11:45 pm – County Rd 29 – RIDE – 47 vehicles checked, no notable incidents
11 JAN 10 – 4:00 pm – Drummond Side Rd – RIDE – 65 vehicles checked, no notable incidents
11 JAN 10 – 9:40 pm – County RD 29 / Waba Rd – RIDE - 45 vehicles checked, 3 roadside tests
and on Highway Traffic Act charge.
13 JAN 10 – 7:55 pm – Ottawa St – Traffic Enforcement – traffic stop and a 53 year old
Mississippi Mills man is charged with Drive While Under Suspension
Tay Valley Township: 13 Calls for Service.
08 Jan 10 – 7 th Con Bathurst – RIDE – 14 vehicles and 1 snow machine checked with 1 HTA
warning.
08 to 14 Jan 10 – Three motor vehicle collisions, one traffic complaint and 1 three day suspension
were investigated during this period.
