Precautions to protect yourself and others in a
hazardous materials incident:
– Approach an incident from upwind and uphill
– Upwind always takes priority
– If you cannot approach from upwind stay
further away
– Use binoculars to identify labeling
– Look for all hazards
– Relay hazards and safety information to others
