Julie Mclaurin is an associate with O'Brien<br />

Atkins Associates, PA in RTP. She received her<br />

Bachelor of Environmental Design in<br />

Architecture in 1989 and her Bachelor of<br />

Architecture in 1990 from North Carolina State<br />

University. While at North Carolina State<br />

University, she served as president for AIAS in<br />

the 1989/90 school year. Mclaurin has served<br />

AIA <strong>Triangle</strong> as section secretary, treasurer, president<br />

elect and as president in 2005. Mclaurin<br />

has also been involved with numerous professional<br />

and community organizations over the<br />

years. As director, she chairs the Collateral<br />

Organizations committee. She and her daughtet<br />

Charlotte,live in Morrisville, NC.<br />

David Moore,AlA<br />

Dave Moore graduated from Texas Tech<br />

University in 1981. A Principal and Director for<br />

Calloway, Johnson, Moore & West, Moore has 25<br />

years of experience in corporate / speculative<br />

office design. He specializes in large scale projects.<br />

Moore's portfolio of CJMW projects<br />

includes the UNC Chapel Hill Kenan Flagler<br />

Business School McColl Building, UNC Chapel<br />

Hill Rizzo Conference Center, UNCG School of<br />

Music Building,the North Carolina Schoolof the<br />

Arts Recital Hall and the New Alumni<br />

Association Building and Visitor Center, both at<br />

NC State. Recent projects include the renovation<br />

of Memorial Hall at UNC Chapel Hill and the new<br />

YWCA at the gateway in Winston-Salem.<br />

Hugh Sutphin,AlA<br />

Hugh Sutphin, AlA, is a Principal with Efird<br />

Sutphin Pearce & Associates, P.A., in Greensboro.<br />

He has served AIA North Carolina in many<br />

capacities since 1999; beginning with his participation<br />

with AIA Piedmont (Secretary, President-<br />

Elect, President, Past President and Interim<br />

President) and most recently lending his efforts<br />

to the AIA North Carolina Facilities Task Force in<br />

2006 and 2007.He is a graduate of NC State<br />

University, where he received his Bachelors of<br />

Environmental Design in Architecture; and an<br />

alum of the University of Colorado where he<br />

received his Masters of Architecture.<br />

AshleyWood<br />

Director, Associates<br />

A recent graduate of the UNC Charlotte School<br />

of Architecture (formerly the College of<br />

Architecture), Ashley is an employee of Shook<br />

Kelley, where she is exploring a career in urban<br />

planning and brand development. In 2003-<br />

2004, she served as the UNCC AIAS President,<br />

and sat on the AIA Charlotte board as the<br />

Student Liaison. In 2004-2005, Ashley served<br />

as the South Quad Director and sat on the<br />

national AIAS board. During her tern, she has<br />

the opportunity to provide input to various<br />

initiatives, including the Studio Culture Summit,<br />

a result of the Studio Culture Report that has<br />

led to the passing of the 13th condition for<br />

accreditation for architecture programs. She<br />

eagerly serves the associate membership of AIA<br />

NC in a similar capacity.<br />

Chris Boney, AIA<br />

Di rector, Member Services<br />

Chris Boney is a Principal with LS3p in<br />

Wilmington. He received his undergraduate<br />

degree in Architecture from the College of<br />

Design at North Carolina State, and a Master of<br />

Architecture degree from the University of<br />

Virginia. While in Virginia, he was the recipient<br />

of the Pristo Award for academic excellence,and<br />

was elected graduation speaker by his peers. He<br />

is currently serving on the City of Wilmington<br />

Planning Board. He has recently completed<br />

terms as President of the Wilmington Section of<br />

AIA North Carolina, Intern Development<br />

Coordinator for AIA North Carolina, and<br />

National Advisor to the AIA Young Architects<br />

Forum. He has been active in his community,<br />

serving as Trustee for the Wilmington Children's<br />

Museum,Thalian Hall Center for the Performing<br />

Arts, Historic Wilmington Foundation, and the<br />

Historic Preservation Commission.<br />

Anthony Hersey, Associate AIA<br />

Anthony Hersey is a graduate of the University<br />

of Kansas, and has worked for Odell Associates,<br />

Inc. located in Charlotte, North Carolina, for four<br />

years. He is currently an Associate member of<br />

AIA and is a Director with the AIA Charlotte<br />

Board of Directors. Anthony has been involved<br />

with AIA Charlotte since 2002, holding multiple<br />

leadership positions on committees and helping<br />

to organize various organizational and community<br />

events. These activities range from<br />

chairing the Charlotte chapter of the Young<br />

Architects Forum to organizing the highly publicized<br />

Design Walk of Fame for the 2002 AtA<br />

National Convention in Charlotte. ln 2004, he<br />

led the effort to organize Barkitecture, a highly<br />

successful AIA Charlotte design competition<br />

and fundraiser for the Humane Society that<br />

showcased the multiple design talents of local<br />

firms and design professionals. Anthony has<br />

recently completed IDP and plans to take the<br />

ARE this year.<br />
