John S. Fisher, AlA, LEED AP<br />

John Fisher is president of Fisher Architects, PA<br />
of Asheville. He received his Bachelor of<br />
Architecture degree from the University of<br />
Tennessee and practiced with Cooper Carry &<br />
Associates of Atlanta prior to moving to<br />
Asheville in 1987. He then worked with<br />
Spaceplan Architects of Asheville until founding<br />
his office in 1992. Fisher Architects has grown to<br />
a staff of nine specializing in historic restoration,<br />
office, retail and mixed-use developments. The<br />
office is also focused on sustainable design, and<br />
Fisher has become a LEED Accredited<br />
Professional. He has been quite active in the<br />
community, having served on the Historic<br />
Resources Commission and the Board of<br />
Directors for the Grove Arcade Foundation. He<br />
and his wife Jill have two grown children, Emily<br />
and David.<br />
Michael Derrig, AIA<br />

Michael Derrig is an Associate Architect at the<br />
Asheville office of Calloway Johnson Moore &<br />
West, P.A. He is a graduate of lowa State<br />
University and also studied in Bath, England.<br />
Michael served on the Governor's Design<br />
Team in Minnesota for several years and has<br />
also served on the Heritage Preservation<br />
Commission in Minneapolis.<br />
Since moving to Asheville, Michael has been<br />
active with Habitat for Humanity and has participated<br />
on mission trips to reconstruct homes in<br />
Mississippi and Virginia. Michael has been active<br />
with the Asheville AIA Section the last two years<br />
as a member of the Executive Committee.<br />
Darrel J. Williams, FAIA<br />
Charlotte Section President<br />
DarrelJ.Williams, FAIA,was born in New Orleans,<br />
Louisiana. He grew up in Baton Rouge,<br />
Louisiana, where he attended Southern<br />
University, receiving a Bachelor of Architecture<br />
degree in"1979. He is a founding principal of<br />
Neighboring Concepts, a multi-disciplinary<br />
design firm, founded in 1996. Neighboring<br />
Concepts has been successful combining urban<br />
planning, architecture and real estate development<br />
services to transform urban communities.<br />
From 1994to 2002,Williams was elected to four<br />
terms as a Mecklenburg County Commissioner.<br />
From 1996 through 2002, Williams served on<br />
and chaired several national committees during<br />
his leadership with the National Association of<br />
Counties where he led several key initiatives<br />
related to smart growth, housing, and communityleconomic<br />
development. As an architect and<br />
elected official, he has been successful in bridging<br />
the gap between the physical and social<br />
challenges facing urban communities.<br />
John Kincheloe, AIA<br />
Chorlotte P resi dent-Elect<br />
Jonathan B. Kincheloe, AlA, LEED AP, an architect<br />
with 12 years experience is an Associate<br />
Principal and Studio Leader for the Envision<br />
Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr.<br />
Kincheloe has project and design experience<br />
with a multitude of project and building types<br />
including: professional and medical office buildings,<br />
interior mall renovations, neighborhood<br />
retail centers, banking facilities, mixed-use urban<br />
projects, hotels and tenant upfit projects.<br />
Mr. Kincheloe graduated with a Bachelor of<br />
Science in Architecture from Georgia lnstitute of<br />
Technology in 1993. He went on to obtain his<br />
Master of Architecture degree from Georgia<br />
Tech in 1996. He became a registered architect<br />
in 2000 and a USGBC LEED Accredited<br />
Professional in 2006. He is member of ICSC and<br />
is CDT certified. Mr. Kincheloe will serve as AIA<br />
Charlotte Section President in 2009.<br />
