the problem. Avoid extension cords and adapters whenever possible. If an<br />

extension cord must be used it should be as short and heavy as possible to<br />

provide the most current to the air conditioner.<br />

If high temperatures are expected, make an effort to park in a shaded area.<br />

Starting the air conditioner early in the morning also helps. It is more efficient<br />

to hold a comfortable temperature than it is to lower the temperature after the<br />

interior of the trailer is already hot.<br />

the market today. In your Owner’s Packet is a set of literature covering all operating<br />

and maintenance instructions. If the literature is misplaced please contact<br />

the air conditioner manufacturer or your <strong>Airstream</strong> dealer for replacement.<br />

The voltage to the air conditioner is critical. We commonly refer to 110 or 120<br />

volts, but a check with a voltmeter may find voltage much lower at a campground<br />

shoreline outlet. Your air conditioner will probably not function if the<br />

current drops below 105 volts. Low voltage is usually associated with older<br />

or poorly maintained trailer parks, but many people have found their homes,<br />

built only twenty or thirty years ago, may not be capable of operating the air<br />

conditioner on some receptacles, Parking your trailer so the power cord can be<br />

plugged into a receptacle close to the fuse or circuit breaker box can alleviate<br />
