Maternity – F3 and Birth suite Upgrade<br />
Dear all,<br />
The following changes will be effective as of Monday March, 18 in<br />
Maternity at Sandringham <strong>Hospital</strong>.<br />
The Maternity Ward, F3 and Birth suite have been refurbished<br />
and staff and patients will move back into the area<br />
Entrance to the special care nursery will return to the swipe<br />
access door opposite birth suites.<br />
Please note that the assembly point in an evacuation for all<br />
of Maternity (SCN-Birthsuite-F3) will now revert back to<br />
assembly area 2 – Main car park between G2 and<br />

MAIN ITEMS OF DISCUSSION<br />
The Board approved a proposal for the appointment of suppliers of cardiac<br />
valves and annuloplasty rings. (Mr Andrew Stripp ext 62826)<br />
The Board approved the appointment of a preferred supplier of non-clinical<br />
waste management services, noting that <strong>Alfred</strong> Health disposes of approximately<br />

The Board noted that implementation of Phase 2 of the Timely Quality Care<br />

The Board noted that in January, both the <strong>Alfred</strong> Emergency & Trauma Centre<br />
and Sandringham Emergency Department successfully reached the increased<br />
NEAT target of 75% of patient presentations needing to be seen, treated and<br />
either discharged, admitted or transferred from the emergency department within<br />
4 hours of arrival and that 99% of emergency/non-elective patients had their<br />

The Board received minutes of the meetings of the <strong>Alfred</strong> Health Audit Committee<br />
held on 13 February 2013, Community Advisory Committee held on 5 February 2013,<br />
Finance Committee held on 6 February 2013 and Quality Committee held on 4<br />
February 2013.<br />
The Board will meet next on Wednesday 3 April 2013 at The <strong>Alfred</strong>. Please contact<br />

Salary packaging fees have been increased to reflect processing costs<br />
to provide you with the program of benefits. The fees have not<br />
increased since July 2011 and the increase is less than CPI and wage<br />
increases over the two year period.<br />
