CETBIR FELLOWSHIPS IN ACUTE CARE & REHABILITATIONTiming: Fellowship to commence February 2013The Centre of Excellence in Traumatic Brain Injury Research (CETBIR) is a new virtual researchcentre established by the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI) at The <strong>Alfred</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>, andcurrently funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). CETBIR aims to bring researchleaders together to support high-quality, multidisciplinary and collaborative research, host fellows inacute and rehabilitation projects, and train the next generation of research leaders.Goals:To achieve these aims CETBIR will fund two CETBIR Research Fellowships in 2013 forresearch in traumatic brain injury: one in acute care, and the other in rehabilitation and long termcare. Applicants from all related disciplines are invited to apply.The CETBIR Fellowship will fund salary, salary on-costs and other related expenses. CETBIRmentors will work with the successful applicants to plan a research project that meets theobjectives of CETBIR, and the approval of the TAC. Applicants may submit their own projectshowever these will need to be approved by the CETBIR Steering Committee and the TAC.Requirements: The following requirements should be met by prospective applicants.1. Applicants must be post-graduates in a related field. Undergraduates are ineligible.2. Applicants can be medical or non-medical3. Applicants must work within Monash University, <strong>Alfred</strong> Health or other collaboratingorganisation.4. By the end of Fellowship period, the successful applicant must complete the researchproject to the stage of being written and ready for submission to a journal.5. All output derived from the fellowship must acknowledge CETBIR as the primaryaffiliation, and also the TAC as the funding body.Procedure:Applications are invited for 2013. Fellowships may be for full or part-time work, as best suits theapplicant and CETBIR. Applicants may engage in other clinical employment for the time they arenot spending on the research fellowship.
