Gerunds — verbs in the -ing form that function as nouns — can serve as objects of many<br />

phrasal verbs.<br />

It is more common to use gerund objects with nonseparable two- and three-word<br />

phrasal verbs:<br />

She's counting on getting that job.<br />

but gerund objects are sometimes used with separable phrasal verbs:<br />
