Ms. Katz practiced law with<br />

<strong>Law</strong> Center <strong>of</strong> Philadelphia,<br />
and the Public Interest Advocacy division <strong>of</strong> the New<br />
Jersey Public Advocate. While at the Women’s <strong>Law</strong> Project,<br />
she was coauthor <strong>of</strong> Women’s Rights and the <strong>Law</strong> and <strong>The</strong><br />
Impact <strong>of</strong> the ERA on State <strong>Law</strong>s. Before coming to the law<br />
school in 1993, Ms. Katz taught in the clinical programs <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pennsylvania <strong>Law</strong> <strong>School</strong> from 1986 to<br />
1993. Her recent publications are “Personal Journals in <strong>Law</strong><br />

Eve Biskind Klothen<br />

and Public Interest Activities.<br />
Ms. Klothen earned her<br />
undergraduate degree at the<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Michigan in<br />
1972 and her J.D. from the<br />
Vanderbilt <strong>University</strong> <strong>School</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong> in 1975. She is a<br />
member <strong>of</strong> the Georgia, Ohio,<br />
and Pennsylvania Bars. After<br />
graduation, Ms. Klothen<br />
became a staff attorney and<br />
subsequently managing attorney for Georgia Legal<br />
Services. She then went to Washington, D.C., to become<br />
a federal agency fraud litigator. Most recently she served<br />
as the founding director <strong>of</strong> Philadelphia Volunteers for<br />
the Indigent Program and director <strong>of</strong> the Philadelphia Bar<br />
Foundation, both <strong>of</strong> which have been honored with<br />
national and state awards. Other pr<strong>of</strong>essional activities<br />
include appointments to the Civil Justice Advisory<br />
Committee for the Eastern District <strong>of</strong> Pennsylvania United<br />
States District Court and membership, with a year as chair,<br />
on the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pennsylvania <strong>Law</strong> <strong>School</strong> Public<br />
Service Advisory Committee. Ms. Klothen, who has been a<br />
consultant for the American Bar Association, has been recognized<br />
for her work with the Pro Bono Coordinator <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Year Award from the National Association <strong>of</strong> Pro Bono<br />
Coordinators, the Equal Justice Award from Community<br />
Legal Services in Philadelphia, and the Outstanding Service<br />
Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Her publications<br />
include “Building the Ethic <strong>of</strong> Public Service—<br />
Penn <strong>Law</strong> <strong>School</strong>’s Mandatory Public Service Program<br />
Completes Its Fifth Year” (<strong>The</strong> Philadelphia <strong>Law</strong>yer, 1996);<br />
“Why Pro Bono? Why Us? Why You?” (Younger <strong>Law</strong>yers<br />
Section, Pennsylvania Bar Association Newsletter, 1988);<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Kludze earned his<br />
B.A. in 1963 and his LL.B. in<br />
1965, both with the highest<br />
honors in his class, at the<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Ghana, where<br />
he served as a senior lecturer<br />
in law. In 1969, he earned his<br />
Ph.D. in law at the <strong>University</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> London. In 2002, he earned<br />
the rare Higher Doctorate<br />
degree <strong>of</strong> LL.D. from the<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> London for his scholarship. A fellow <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Royal Society <strong>of</strong> Arts, London, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Kludze has served<br />
as a barrister-at-law and solicitor <strong>of</strong> the Supreme Court <strong>of</strong><br />
Ghana and has been a visiting pr<strong>of</strong>essor at the Temple<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong> and with the Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong>,<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Ghana. He also has served as pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> law<br />
and dean <strong>of</strong> the Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong>, <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Calabar,<br />
Nigeria. His numerous publications include the books Ewe<br />
<strong>Law</strong> <strong>of</strong> Property (published in London), Modern Principles <strong>of</strong><br />
