• Selection from play, novel, short story,

poem, or screenplay

• Selection must be memorized

• Must have an intro that clearly states

the title and author

• No props or costumes are allowed

• Humorous must be humorous in nature,

likewise dramatic must be dramatic in

nature

• Focus: Use of focal points and/or direct

contact with the audience should be

determined by the requirements of the

literature being interpreted.

• Maximum time: 10 minutes, 30 sec.
