The <strong>Peterborough</strong> <strong>Figure</strong> <strong>Skating</strong> <strong>Club</strong> is pleased to offer this <strong>Skater</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Clinic</strong> for<br />
Pre-Preliminary to Gold skaters which will feature on- and off-ice sessions designed to help<br />
strengthen the figure skating athlete.<br />

Open to skaters who are working onPre-Preliminary Freeskate and will be<br />
accepted up to Gold Freeskate.<br />
$45.00 (10% discount for each additional skater from the same family)<br />
$15.00 – Waived for coaches who have 3 or more skaters attending<br />
Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and must<br />
be received by January 25, 2013. No applications will be accepted on the<br />
day of the clinic.<br />
Confirmations will not be mailed out to applicants. <strong>Skater</strong>s will only be<br />
notified if their application is declined due to numbers.<br />
Warm on-ice clothing, comfortable/stretchy off-ice clothing, running<br />
shoes with minimal tread, a yoga mat (if possible), water bottle, lunch,<br />
snacks and drinks<br />

<strong>Skater</strong>s may be divided into groups according to their level (depending<br />
on the number of skaters registered)<br />

Special Guest Coach Bios<br />
Chris Leney - Off-Ice Coach<br />
Chris Leney has been a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor for 10 years<br />
and has been employed at the YMCA of Central East Ontario in <strong>Peterborough</strong> for the last 7<br />
years. She is currently the Coordinator of Group Fitness but is also instructing classes and<br />
working one on one with clients of all ages and abilities. In addition, Chris is a YMCA Master<br />
Trainer which allows her to instruct, mentor and certify newcomers to the fitness industry.<br />
Douglas Haw - On-Ice Coach<br />
Douglas Haw is the Director of <strong>Skating</strong> at the Granite <strong>Club</strong> in Toronto -home of world<br />
champions Patrick Chan, Kurt Browning, Barbara Underhill andPaul Martini. In 1997 he was<br />
one of only 7 coaches in Canada to be NCCP Level Four certified (Olympic Level). In 2000 he<br />
was selected as a NCCP Level Three Singles Assessor, one of about fifteen coaches in<br />
Canada, qualified to certify coaches at this level.Presently, he is the highest certified coach in<br />
North America - Canadian NCCP Level 5 and PSA Master Coach in the USA.
