PIRELLI ECO TECHNOLOGY
Pirelli & C Eco Technology is the Company of
the Pirelli Group operating in the sustainable
Transport Technology. The Company caters
to European markets with two main products
designed to reduce diesel vehicle emissions: a
low-environmental-impact fuel (Gecam, “white
diesel”) and Diesel Particulate Filters (Feelpure).
These solutions have been developed by
researchers from Pirelli Eco Technology and
Pirelli Labs, the Pirelli Group’s Advanced
Research centre. The Company also cooperates
with international public and private research
organizations and some of Europe’s largest engine
manufacturers in order to test the products directly
on vehicles.

WHY DO I NEED A DIESEL
PARTICULATE FILTER?
Two good reasons to fit a DPF System:
a. A Pirelli Feelpure DPF System will remove more
than 95% of the particulate matter generated by a
diesel engine.
b.To enter all German and European low emission
zones (for example LEZ London) it is essential (large
fines possible for non compliance)
WHAT WILL IT DO
FOR MY VEHICLE
In Germany, a Pirelli Feelpure DPF fitted to a EURO
I, II or III engine, upgrades the vehicle to an emission
status which entitles it to receive a “Green Plaque”.
This ensures “Free Pass” through all German
Environmental Zones beyond 2010. Further, the
retrofit system will allow problem-free operation of
your vehicle in other European countries. This applies
even to EURO 0 engines!
WHEN DO I NEED A DPF BY?
Since 1.1.2008, 13 Environmental Zones are
operative in Germany. The implementation of another
23 Environmental Zones is planned. A further tightenup
of the “Plaque Regulation” is in sight. For travelling
to other European countries, a retrofit filter system
could be required in Italy, Holland, England, Sweden,
Norway and Denmark. More countries will follow.

carbide, a thermal-shockresistant

this solution ensures
maximum system
stability.
Increasingly necessary
for on-the-road use following the
introduction of specific legislation covering diesel
vehicle pollution, diesel particulate filter systems
are marketed by Pirelli with retrofit solutions for all
types of diesel vehicle: light and heavy vehicles
for transportation of goods, coaches (public
and private fleets), ships, boats, generators,
earthmovers, special vehicles (street cleaning,
lifting equipment, dustcarts).
