Needless to say, as a child his favorite hobby was drawing.
When he realized that “drawing took a lot of his time” he
pursued photography. And it was an instant success. First
in New Mexico, then in California, all to the way to the Los
Angeles Times. Much of his experience was made in prestigious
magazines. But when in 2007 he started to work with
Ben Christman, friend and famous American photographer
specialized in weddings, Dave discovered his love for wedding
photography: “These are moments in which it is possible to
capture the most genuine emotions, in which even adults are
allowed to share their feelings. A spontaneous expression or
an involuntary gesture is enough to be able to truly see the
person in front of you”. Authenticity is Dave’s key word, but
also respect, empathy, courtesy, attitude. “To be able to do a
good job, you truly need to be interested in people, to preserve
your curiosity in understanding them, to get excited over
small things. And to be able to feel. Nevertheless, document
love (the one with a capital ‘l’) is part of my career, a privilege
that I appreciate and I recognize its importance. If my heart
was made of ice, how could I represent this divine expression
of human experience?”
