The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.

AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED

MORE THAN WELCOME TO
ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period , attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two- thirds vote of membership present at
any general membership meeting by secret
ballot
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability
insurance for CENTRAL VALLEY
CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

of declining membership by increasing its size
by 10% over the last two years. 7) Same goes
for the number of “runs” which had dropped to
an average of two to three per month and are
now back up at three to four per month.
As I complete my second year as your president
and write my final monthly message, I would like
to thank those members that served on the
board this year including Skip Severance, Fred
Parks, Kim Fosnaugh and my wife Pam.
Additional thanks go out to Charlie Fosnaugh for
handling Membership, Leigh Ann Severance for
taking the raffle tickets, Jan DeMello-Pfelpsen on
Sunshine News and Lupe Dawson for being
Sargent at Arms. Congratulations are also in
order for your 2015 CVC board as Gary Pflepsen
will be your new President, Skip Severance moves
from VP of Public Relations to VP of Activities,
Dick Danielsen will be the new VP of Public
Relations, Debby Anderson is your new Secretary
and Mike Ledba will control the checkbook and
handle the duties of Treasurer.
Central Valley Corvettes has recently benefitted
from a series of positive developments. 1) The
club saved a few thousand dollars a year by
converting to an electronic newsletter. 2) Those
savings have led to a club sponsored spring picnic
which was been well received. 3) Our meetings
were moved up thirty minutes to 6:30pm to
accommodate our out of town members. 4) For
the first time in several years, Central Valley
Corvettes obtained a major sponsor. As a result,
our club’s financial security is the best it has ever
been. 5) Through your votes you provided the
flexibility for more people to become eligible to
One difficult challenge being president is to
come up with a “Mystery Run” that hasn’t been
done before. Twenty years of three or four day
weekends in and around California can severely
limit the options. Hopefully you enjoyed last
year’s run where for the first time we chartered
a motor coach and visited a part of the state
CVC had not been to. Even this year’s run was
different as it was a five-day, four- night
midweek adventure which was a first. I would
encourage future presidents to consider
expanded “Mystery Runs” which can allow you
a better opportunity to discover something
fresh and exciting.
In closing, I would hope our members
appreciated the effort of an efficiently run
meeting. Getting down to business was a
priority with a goal of completing the agenda in
35 to 45 minutes. Including the raffle, the
target has to have things wrapped up in roughly
an hour. Being the president these past two
years was sort of like Ed Sullivan introducing
and transitioning from one act to another. And
if there was a hotly debated topic at hand, I felt
it was important to keep the momentum of the
meeting moving and not let things drag on.
Thank you for your support. It has been an
enjoyable two years. I hope you show the same
support for our new incoming president, Gary
Pflepsen and the rest of the 2015 CVC Board.

General Meeting Minutes
November 18, 2014
The Annual meeting of CVC was called to
order by Craig Hansen at 6:30 p.m.
Minutes of the October meeting were read by
Linda Laningham in the absence of Secretary
Kim Fosnaugh. A Motion was made by Jeff
Levine to accept the minutes as read and
seconded by Diane Hayes. Motion carried.
Charlotte Renna addressed membership
explaining it has been 5 years since Joe, her
beloved husband has passed away. In
memory of Joe, she made special cookies that
were his favorites for membership to enjoy.
Parliamentarian Linda Laningham and
members of nominating board, Patrick
Garrahan and Charlotte Renna passed out
the voting ballots for members to vote for
new Board members for 2015.
Treasurer’s report was given by Fred Parks.
Membership report was given by Charlie
Fosnaugh. At the present time the club has
86 members.

Severance read the November birthdays
and anniversaries of club members.
Old Business:
Social hour for the Christmas Party will be 5:30
p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Christmas Hayride will
start at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to bring a blanket; it
will be cold.
New Business:
A reminder that the Board election will be held
Linda Laningham gave the results of the Board
elections. Next year’s Board members will be:
President Gary Pflepsen, Vice-President of
Activities Skip Severance, Vice-President of
Public Relations Dick Danielsen, Secretary
Debby Anderson, and Treasurer Mike Lebda.
The Board meeting will be on November 22 at
7 p.m. at the Hansen home. All new Board
members need to attend.

1. DEBBIE GARRISON HAS LOADS OF INFORMATION. FIRST OF ALL SHE
WANTS TO THANK ALL CVC FRIENDS WHO SENT CARDS, PHONE CALLS
AND PRAYERS FOR KEITH WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL. HE IS DOING GREAT
AND SEEMS TO THINK HE IS RELATED TO THE ‘IRON MAN’. NOW HE CAN
BEGIN PLANNING ON HIS KNEED REPLACEMENT.
….THE GARRISON’S DTR-IN-LAW HAS PASSED HER MCAPS AND IS
SENDING OUT APPLICATIONS TO MEDICAL SCHOOLS. ….THE GIRLS
CRUISE WITH DEBBIE’S FRIEND JANET, JANET LINDA AND DEBBIE’S
SISTER WAS A BLAST. EVERYONE ON THE SHIP CALLED THEM ‘THE
SISTERS AND THEIR TABLE WAS DECLARED THE ‘FUN TABLE’ ….ALSO,
DEBBIE HAS SHARED THE NEWS THAT LINDA LANINGHAM WAS NAMED
‘WOMAN OF THE YEAR’ BY THE SELMA BETHEL HOME GUILD.
CONGRATULATIOS TO OUR LINDA!!!!!
2. HERE IS THE LATEST ON OUR DEAR ED KROEKER; THE FIRST MESSAGE
FROM JOYCE KROEKER IS THAT ED IS STILL HANGING IN THERE. THE
SCIATIC NERVE IS KEEPING HIM FROM GETTING AROUND AS HE WOULD
LIKE. HE IS REALLY HOPING IT WILL HEAL SOON AND HE WILL BE ABLE
TO GET OUT AND ABOUT AGAIN. …THE SECOND MESSAGE FROM JOYCE
IS THAT ED HAD ANOTHER HEART ATTACK ON NOVEMBER 16. HE WAS
TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO CLOVIS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. HIS HEART
RATE REACHED 250 BEATS PER MINUTE. THEN THE DEFIBRILLATOR
KICKED IN AND KNOCKED HIM TO THE FLOOR UNCONSCIOUS.. BUT
TOUCH ED PERKED UP AND JILL AND JOYCE TOOK HIM HOME WITH A
BIG GOOSE EGG ON HIS HEAD AND BACK AND PAINFUL NECK AND BACK
MUSCLES FROM THE FALL. PER JOYCE: ED IS A TOUCH OLD BIRD AND
VERY BLESSED. PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.
3. A SHORT BUT SWEET MESSAGE FROM TOM AND EMILY PIERCY. THEY
NOT HAVE A NEW GREAT GRAND DAUGHTER. CONGRATULATIONS.

4. AND NOW FROM PATRICK AND PATRICIA GARRAHAN. IT SEEMS THEY
HAVE THE TRAVELLING BUG. THEY WENT DOWN TO DESERT HOT
SPRIINGS LAST WEEEK. THEY SPENT A COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE
RIVERSIDE AREA ON THE WAY. THEY THEN DROVE OVER TO YORBA
LINDA TO THE NIXON LIBRARY. THEN THEY MADE A STOP AT THE U.C.
RIVERSIDE BOTANICAL GARDENS AND VISITED THE MARCH AIR FIELD
MUSEUM. DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A CITRUS STATE PARK? THEY
VISITED A MUSEUM THAT CONTAINED THE HISTORY OF CITRUS AND
HOW IT GOT HERE. THE CITRUS GROVE IS WHERE IT WAS FIRST
PLANTED COMMERCIALLY IN CALIFORNIA.
5. AND FROM OUR DEAR CHARLOTTE RENNA. FOR THOSE WHO KNOW
HER SISTER AND HUSBAND ROSEMARY AND BOB, THEY HAVE MOVED
TO MAUI. I AM SURE YOU ALL FEEL VERY SORRY FOR THE TWO OF
THEM. IT SEEMS THEY HAVE OWNED A HOME THERE FOR 6 YEARS SO
THEY DECIDED TO MAKE IT PERMANENT AND MOVE THERE.
…CHARLOTT’S FRIEND DON FLEW HOME FOR A TRIP TO OREGON. HE
WILL PROBABLY BE BACK IN A WEEK OR SO.
6. AND NOW FOR NEWS ABOUT THE DOMINOES LADIES. THEY ARE
TAKING A BREAK FROM DOMINOES UNTIL AFTER THE HOLIDAYS.
EVERYONE IS GETTING READY FOR THE BUSY HOLIDAYS. ON
THURSDAY 8 OF THE LADIES PLAYED DOMONOES AT FREIDA’S AND
THEN HAD LUNCH AT THE CHINA GARDEN RESTAURANT. AGAIN, RUTH
WON AT DOMINOES. JUDY CAPURRO JOINED THE GROUP FOR LUNCH.
THE COPURRO’S HAVE HAD 3 DEATHS IN THEIR FAMILY AND HAVE JUST
LEARNED THEIR GRANDSON HAS CANCER. IT HAS BEEN VERY
DIFFICULT FOR THEM. PLEASE KEEP THE CAPURR’S IN YOUR PRAYERS.
7. UNFORTUNATELY KIM FOSNAUGH HAS A RUPTURED DISK AND WILL BE
HAVING SURGERY IN DECEMBER. WE ALL WISH HER WELL.
8. AND FINALLY THE NEWS FROM GARY AND JAN. WE WENT ON A
WONDERFUL TRIP TO ITALY AND GREECE. WE VISITED VENICE, ROME,
SORRENTO AND MESSINA ITALY. WE ALSO WENT THROUGH THE
VATICAN WHICH IS TRULY AMAZING. WE ALSO VISITED CROATIA,
DUBROVNIK KOTOR, MONTENEGRO AND CORTU GREECE. THE FOOD
WAS ABSOLUTELY LOVELY, WE ARE NOW PURCHASING OUR CLOTHING
AT TENT CITY.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR NEWS. WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO MORE
GOOD NEWS AND MUCH LESS BAD.
