Aqua Art Miami is pleased to announce its return to the fair’s original<br />
location—the Aqua Hotel in the he<strong>art</strong> of South <strong>Beach</strong>. During the<br />
first week in <strong>December</strong>, and running simultaneously with Art <strong>Basel</strong><br />
Miami <strong>Beach</strong>, this boutique hotel will be transformed into a hub for<br />
innovative contemporary <strong>art</strong> programming, represented by the 43<br />
galleries exhibiting there this year.<br />

and the Middle East, this year’s ART ASIA Fair is continuing<br />

contemporary <strong>art</strong>. This year’s fair includes two exhibitions of<br />
contemporary <strong>art</strong> from the Middle East—Staging Identity:<br />
Performance and Irony in Contemporary Iranian Photography<br />
and The Contemporary Arabesque. ART ASIA is dedicated to<br />
widening the scope of Asian <strong>art</strong> and takes pride in providing a<br />
platform for this unique regional dialogue.<br />

The museum was established by agreement in 1963 when the<br />
City of Miami <strong>Beach</strong> accepted the gift of the <strong>art</strong> collection of<br />
John and Johanna Bass, upon condition that it would maintain<br />
the collection in perpetuity, provide for the exhibition of the<br />
collections, and keep it open and available to the public.<br />

Collectors Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz have added a significant<br />
player to the Miami <strong>art</strong>-scene by building a 30,000 square-foot<br />
warehouse space to showcase their world-class collection of<br />
contemporary <strong>art</strong>. The collection is among the top 200 private<br />
<strong>art</strong> collections in the world, featuring contemporary works by both<br />
emerging and established <strong>art</strong>ists including the late Felix Gonzalez-<br />

The galleries invited to exhibit in Design Miami/ deal mainly in<br />
