Objectives
• To provide a brief overview of the epidemiology and
prevalence of chronic pain and opioid dependence and
increasing overdose rates and fatalities along with
pharmacology of buprenorphine.
• To review and analyze data from a clinic integrating
primary care pain management and opioid dependence to
evaluate effectiveness of buprenorphine therapy.
• To describe the induction process and utilization of
buprenorphine in the treatment of pain and opioid
dependence in an outpatient setting along with the
monitoring process to assess efficacy.
