2.0 POSITION OBJECTIVES
Senior researchers are part of a research team and are expected to manage their relevant thematic area
under supervision of Technical Specialist. They will also be expected to facilitate policy outreach
agenda developed for AAWAZ.
Their major role would be provide synthesis and analysis of various reports generated by research
associates, highlight key messages from field activity. They will address any research gaps faced by
research associates in their daily working (technical/programmatic). They would also carry out the first
cut review of thematic reports produced by M&E teams and will give their feedback.
3.0 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS
3.1 Core Responsibilities & Duties
Will be responsible to generate, assess, and evaluate theme-specific research/reports and
supervise activity by Research Associates.
Facilitate AAWAZ team to deliver on research and policy outreach program in one of the
research programs mentioned above. Undertake original research around selected theme within
the overall research program.
Create/propose any theme-specific research horizontal and vertical linkages between AAWAZ
partners.
Carry out action research and collect case studies in AAWAZ implementation areas. The key
messages from case studies will be identified for discussion in senior level AAWAZ meetings.
Facilitate in design of annual midline and perception surveys.
Coordinate and network with other researchers from within or outside the Institute working on
AAWAZ thematic programs. Organize AAWAZ related research conferences, workshops,
seminars, and other forms of the dissemination of the research output of the Institute under the
supervision of Technical specialists.
Compile and publish working papers, project reports and policy briefs in their area of research.
Supervise the independent policy briefs being generated by Research Associates.
Help the Fellows in responding to requests for policy advice from public and private sector in
the area of expertise.
Provide support to SDPI training unit by delivering at least one day long courses in a year.
Carry out review of theme-specific campaign material being prepared by Advocacy and
Outreach themes.
