Declassification Review of <strong>CONAD</strong>/<strong>NORAD</strong> Historical Summaries<br />
1. The <strong>NORAD</strong>/J3 staff has reviewed the attached <strong>CONAD</strong> Historical Summary Jul 56-Jun 57(S) and<br />
<strong>CONAD</strong>/<strong>NORAD</strong> Historical Summary Jul-Dec 57 (S-REL CAN <strong>US</strong>) and is pleased to provide a large<br />
portion of these documents for release.<br />
2. The <strong>CONAD</strong> Historical Summary, Jul 56-Jun 57 (S) is now declassified except for the bracketed<br />
information on the pages listed below which remain classified SECRET. Classification of these<br />
marked portions is retained lAW section 1.5 of E.O. 12958, as they relate to military plans or<br />
operations [classification category (a) of EO 12958].<br />

3. The <strong>CONAD</strong>/<strong>NORAD</strong> Historical Summary, Jul-Dec 57 (S-REL CAN<strong>US</strong>) is now declassified<br />
except for the bracketed information on the pages listed below which remain classified as<br />
SECRET-REL CAN <strong>US</strong>. Classification of these marked portions is retained lAW section 1.5 of E.O.<br />
12958, as they relate to military plans/operations, or constitute foreign government information<br />
[classification categories (a) and (b) of EO 12958].<br />
