Aircraft Apron Areas<br />
The main apron, under construction on<br />
the east side <strong>of</strong> the airport, is<br />
approximately 21,400 square yards in<br />
area, which will provide approximately<br />
27 aircraft tie-down positions. The<br />
eastside apron area is located directly in<br />
front <strong>of</strong> the new terminal. Future<br />
additional apron area and a helipad are<br />
planned directly south <strong>of</strong> the main<br />
apron. Approximately 4,900 square<br />
yards are proposed for this area.<br />
The west side apron is approximately<br />
6,700 square yards in area. This apron<br />
provides for approximately 12 aircraft<br />
tie-down spaces.<br />
Aircraft Hangar Facilities<br />
Hangar facilities at <strong>Weslaco</strong> Mid Valley<br />
<strong>Airport</strong> are located on both the east and<br />
west sides. These consist <strong>of</strong> T-hangars as<br />
well as executive hangars. The main sets<br />
<strong>of</strong> T-hangars have been newly<br />
constructed on the east side. Ground is<br />
being prepared at this time to<br />
accommodate additional new facilities.<br />
Taxi areas and markings are in good<br />
condition where available.<br />
The box hangars on the west side are in<br />
fair condition. Some are older metal<br />
sheds that date from the 1950's. There<br />
are individual storage units, as well as<br />
facilities for storage <strong>of</strong> multiple aircraft.<br />

Fixed Base Operators<br />
Mid Valley Aviation<br />
<strong>Weslaco</strong> Mid Valley Aviation is the fixed<br />
base operator (FBO) at Mid Valley<br />
<strong>Airport</strong>. Mid Valley <strong>Airport</strong> provides on<br />
base 24 hour fuel service. Available fuel<br />
includes 100 Low Lead (LL) Avgas and<br />
Jet A fuel.<br />
Sterling Air Service<br />
Sterling Air Service is a Part 135 air<br />
carrier conducting passenger, cargo and<br />
air ambulance operations. They use two<br />
Beechcraft Queen Air and a Cessna 206.<br />
B & H Aviation<br />
B & H Aviation is located on the west<br />
side <strong>of</strong> the airfield. They provide light<br />
maintenance service.<br />
Wilson Aircraft<br />
Wilson Aircraft is a major airframe and<br />
engine maintenance facility, rated for<br />
repair <strong>of</strong> single and multi-engine land<br />
aircraft. Located on the east side <strong>of</strong> the<br />
airport in the north most hangar, Wilson<br />
has provided service at <strong>Weslaco</strong> Mid<br />
Valley <strong>Airport</strong> for several years. Wilson<br />
specializes in Beechcraft Queen Air<br />
maintenance.<br />
Garrick Warbirds<br />
Garrick Warbirds operates a restoration<br />
and sales operation <strong>of</strong> Russian war<br />
planes, the Yakovlev YAK 3. Garrick is<br />
located on the west side <strong>of</strong> the airfield.<br />
AIRPORT SUPPORT FACILITIES<br />
Fuel Facilities<br />
The above ground fuel storage tanks are<br />
located just south <strong>of</strong> the general aviation<br />
terminal. Mid Valley Aviation has two<br />
storage tanks that store 12,000 gallons<br />
each <strong>of</strong> Jet A fuel and 100LL Avgas. Also<br />
provided on field is a 2,200 gallon Jet A<br />
fuel service truck.<br />
