Donald Olsen ’57 lives in DeLand, Florida with his wife <strong>of</strong><br />
57 years, Ruth. Dr. Olsen keeps busy playing the cello in<br />
two orchestras and enjoying his 13 grandchildren.<br />
Robert Tauber ’62 is the <strong>2012</strong> recipient <strong>of</strong> the Ninth<br />
District <strong>Dental</strong> Association's highest award, the D. Austin<br />
Sniffen Medal <strong>of</strong> Honor. Dr. Tauber, an assistant clinical<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Section <strong>of</strong> Adult Dentistry at CDM,<br />
was joined at the August ceremony by friends and<br />
<strong>Columbia</strong> classmates.<br />

Joel Friedman ’68:<br />
2013 NYSDA President<br />
Joel Friedman ‘68 is President-Elect <strong>of</strong> the New York State<br />
<strong>Dental</strong> Association, one <strong>of</strong> the largest state constituencies<br />
<strong>of</strong> the ADA, representing more than 13,000 <strong>of</strong> the state’s<br />
dentists, and will become the association’s president in 2013.<br />
Dr. Friedman has also served as president <strong>of</strong> the New York State<br />
<strong>Dental</strong> Society <strong>of</strong> Anesthesiology and the Bronx County <strong>Dental</strong><br />
Society. He has been an active member <strong>of</strong> the New York State<br />
Society <strong>of</strong> Oral and Maxill<strong>of</strong>acial Surgery, holding a number<br />
<strong>of</strong> positions, including membership on the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees,<br />
Vice President,Treasurer, Secretary, and President. An associate<br />
clinical pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Oral and Maxill<strong>of</strong>acial Surgery at CDM since<br />
1994, Dr. Friedman is currently a full-time associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
Clinical Surgery at NYPH-Weill Cornell Medical School. From<br />
1976 to1992, he was also Director <strong>of</strong> OMFS at Jacobi Medical<br />
Center Albert Einstein <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong>.<br />
