Project: Air Force Configuration Management Office (AFECMO) – Microsoft Consulting
Services
Objective: The AFECMO mission is to ensure a worldwide standard AF operating environment
for real-time, secure access to information to increase control, consistency, and
reduce costs through enterprise configuration management. This requirement provides
contractor consulting support for centralized management of products, services, assets, and
standards throughout the AF Network (AFNet) enterprise.
Scope: Acquire the necessary expertise to support the Air Force continued maintenance
and optimization of standardized, secure and effective Windows-based desktop and server
computing capabilities (software tools and processes), office automation and global active
directory services. This effort will provide optimization of existing and future Microsoft products
deployed on the NIPRNet (Nonsecure Internet Protocol Router Network)/SIPRNet
(Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) used by over 600K Air Force active duty military
personnel, Air National Guard personnel, Air Force Reserve personnel, Air Force civil service
personnel, Air Force contractors, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers
(FFRDC) personnel working on Air Force installations with Government Furnished
Equipment (GFE) or at FFRDC facilities with GFE, and DOD agencies.
