11-10-7 Wheels, Hubs and Bearings-Front (Except Front Drive) 11-10-7<br />
1. Oil the spindle and push the axle ring<br />
flush against the axle face where<br />
applicable.<br />
2. Remove all burrs from the wheel hub<br />
bore seal area, and clean again.<br />
3. Pack grease between the spring and<br />
the seal lip. This will prevent the<br />
spring from dislocating when the seal<br />
is installed.<br />
4. Position the seal in the hub bore (Part<br />
Number Up). Drive the seal into<br />
position using the correct tool. It<br />
must be perfectly square with the<br />
bore, and bottom evenly.<br />
5. Install the wheel and adjust the<br />
bearings. Install the Stemco hub cap.<br />
6. Remove the filler plug and add premium<br />
oil <strong>Ford</strong> specification ESW-M2CI05<br />
BSAE 90 or equivalent. Double check<br />
the oil level before releasing the vehicle<br />
for service. Oil level must be between<br />
the oil level line on the hub cap to 1/4<br />
inch above the line.<br />
NATIONAL SEALS<br />
Install (Fig. 7) as follows:<br />
1. Clean all parts, remove rough spots<br />
and install axle ring flush against face<br />
where applicable.<br />
2. Position the seal into the hub (notice<br />
oil side marking) with drive tool and<br />
lightly hammer into a press fit.<br />
3. Install the wheel and adjust the<br />
bearings the same as for any seal<br />
installation. Install the see-through<br />
hubcap and the retaining screws.<br />
4. Remove the filler plug and add oil to<br />
level on see-through hubcap.<br />
