Agri Nanotechnology (SHIATS), who has been recognized globally as the 'Father of
Green Nanotechnology' will deliver series of guest lectures and perform live
demonstrations to showcase innovations in Green Nanotechnology at the rst ever
workshop on Green Nanotechnology being held in Goa, India from August 6-7,
2013.
Nanotechnology is considered to play a signicant role in major advances within the
Agriculture, Energy, Technology and Medical sectors in the 21st century.
Nanotechnology must embrace green and clean technologies in order to be
economically viable and environmentally sustainable. The global corporate sector is
embracing Green Nanotechnology as the economic and societal impacts of green
processes are expected to exceed one Trillion dollar market potential. As the
nanotechnology revolution unfolds to unleash its power on our day to day lives, the
environmental impacts of various nanotechnological production processes and
nished products that are embedded with a wide spectrum of nanoparticles must be
addressed right at the time of inception.
Green Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary rapidly developing knowledge base at
the interface of agriculture, chemistry, physics, medical sciences, engineering and
biological elds. The INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON GREEN
NANOTECHNOLOGY hosted by the Sam Higgnbottom Institute of Agriculture,
Technology and Sciences, Allahabad (SHIATS: Deemed to be University) in
partnership with University of Missouri is the rst one of its kind in the Nation. This
rst ever Monsoon workshop on Green Nanotechnology, in India, will be held in
Goa at the picturesque Bogmallo Beach Resort Hotel in Goa from August 6-7,
2013. This workshop will provide a forum where group discussions, lectures and
hands on live experiments and demonstrations will focus on the latest developments
of novel Green Nanotechnological processes and products to help the corporate
sectors the ability to design new products that are made from more eco - friendly
materials including plants, and crops, various phytochemicals and phytoconstructs,
locally available in India.
Green Nanotechnology workshop will provide latest technical knowhow on using
green processes that use less energy and generate less waste throughout the
product life cycle. Discussions at this workshop will cover applications of 100%
'Green' Nanotechnologies for the design and development of nanoparticles which in
turn make their way into the production of fertilizers, smart electronic materials,
lifesaving nanopharmaceuticals, environmental restoration technologies and in
alternate green energy production devices.

The scope of this workshop includes:
How Green Nanotechnology connects Agricultural Economy with
Nanotechnology;
Engineering and sciences as they relate to chemistry, and physics of green
nanoparticles production leading to green nanotechnology-based products;
New green nanotechnological synthetic processes and their feasibilities at
laboratory, pilot scales and industrial scale mass manufacturing;
Use of phytochemical processes and phyto-mediated technologies for the
production of green nanotechnology-based products in the agricultural,
energy, medical, smart electronic materials and environmental sectors;

About Professor Kattesh V. Katti MSc.Ed,
PhD, DSC, FRSC:
Professor Kattesh V Katti is an outstanding leader
with sustained international acclaims for his work
in biomedical sciences, Professor Katti is the rst
immigrant American to receive the Sate of
Missouri's highest honor of 'Outstanding
Missourian' award from the Governor of
Missouri State in recognition of his contributions
in Nanomedicine and Green Nanotechnology.
For his stellar scientic contributions and ground breaking inventions
in chemical, green nanotechnological and nano-biomedical sciences,
which have made transformative differences in cancer diagnostics
and therapy, Professor Katti has received numerous international
awards and citations which include: one of the '25 Most Inuential
Scientists In Molecular Imaging in the World' award by RT Image.
Nobel Prize Winner Norman Borlaug has referred Professor Katti as:
'Father of Green Nanotechnology'; he has also received Gauss
Professorship from the Gottingen Academy of Sciences;
'Outstanding Scientists Fellows' award and induction as a Fellow of
the St Louis Academy of Science from one of the oldest scientic
academies of the world and many more.
In 2013, Professor Katti was elected as a fellow of the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) with a citation
“for distinguished contributions encompassing main group, transition
metal and nanoscale chemistry, particularly for ground breaking
discoveries enabling application of chemical concepts for biomedical
applications”.
His unprecedented discovery of the production of tumor specic
gold nanoparticles through 100% green processes have been cited
as the Editor's choice in Nature, Future Medicine, in Science, in
Popular Science, by the Discovery Channel and have been
highlighted in the scientic/medical programs of the British
Broadcasting Corporation (BBC, London).
