Agartala : The workshop cum joint annual
conference of East & West branches was organized
and conducted on 1st May 2011 at Agartala Press
Club. The renowned educationist Smt. Manjulika Deb
Barman presided over the 1st session. Smt. Jaba
Dhar Zonal Sanskar Secretary was the Chief Guest.
The renowned social worker and respected senior
citizen Shri Abani Kumar Das was the guest of
honour and the State President Shri Dhirendra Kalai
was also in the dais. Welcome address was given
by the State General Secretary Smt. Ranju Roy
The President Smt. Manjulika Deb Barman delivered
her presidential speech particularly on the 5 Mottos
viz: Sampark, Sahyog, Sanskar, Sewa & Samarpan.
In the second phase submission of annual reports
& annual accounts was done by the respective
Secretary & Treasurer. Election of new office bearers
was also conducted with Agartala (East) : President
Ajit Kumar Shyam, Secretary : Sudip Saha,
Treasurer : Bikas Roy and Agartala (West) :
President Smt. Shikha Sen, Secretary Smt. Chitra
Sarkar Treasurer Smt. Mamta Paul.
PUNJAB (SOUTH)
Jalalabad (west): The state Workshop was
organised by Punjab South at Jalalabad (west).120
delegates from 23 branches attended the W’shop.
The purpose of the W’shop was to acquaint the newly
elected branch office bearers with the ideology,
aims, objectives of the parishad and bring them
closer to the philosophical working of the parishad.
Sh. Lalit Mahajan Addl. Secretary General, presided
over the workshop. Sh. Sewa Singh Chawla, Sh.
Sriniwas Bihani, Sh.Sat Pal Narula (National
Secretaries), Sh.Jai Pal Garg and Dr.Rajesh Puri
(zonal secretaries) were the main speakers. Sh.Ravi
Doomra welcomed the delegates on behalf of the
branch. Sh. Chaman Lal Kamra, President, Punjab
South welcomed the National, zonal, state officebearers
and the delegates from different branches
of Pb. South
Sh. Lalit Mahajan, Addl. Secretary General,
threw light on the philosophy of BVP. He highlighted
the thought of Swami Vivekananda for service of
mankind and motivating the youth for their role in
development of the Nation. He also explained the
projects and schemes organised at National level
and the corpus fund collected and maintained for
help to needy persons during natural calamities.
Sh. Sriniwas Bihani, National Secretary, Vistar
explained the set up of BVP and its working at
branch, distt.,state, zone and national level. He set
the target for no. of branches in Pb. South to 45
against the existing 36 and membership to 2100.
Sh. Jai Pal Garg, Zonal Secretary, explained
the meaning of SAMPARK in context of BVP and
various projects connected with the sampark sutra.
He explained the protocol to be observed at the
meetings and the functions of the Parishad at
various levels.
During the second session Sh. Sewa Singh
Chawla threw light on the need, importance and
various projects prescribed under sanskar sutra.
He explained how to organize GVCA, NGSC, BKJ
projects to inculcate Bhartiya sanskars in youth.
Dr. Rajesh Puri explained how we can reach
to the needy in the society through the sewa
projects. He acquainted the members with various
sewa projects being taken up by parishad viz:
Viklang Kendras, vanvasi kalyan yojana etc. Sh
.Ashok Gupta and Sh Raj Kumar Gupta spoke about
how to make the projects a success and how to
make bvp branches effective among the society.
