ASSAM<br />

Agartala : The workshop cum joint annual<br />

conference of East & West branches was organized<br />

and conducted on 1st May 2011 at Agartala Press<br />

Club. The renowned educationist Smt. Manjulika Deb<br />

Barman presided over the 1st session. Smt. Jaba<br />

Dhar Zonal Sanskar Secretary was the Chief Guest.<br />

The renowned social worker and respected senior<br />

citizen Shri Abani Kumar Das was the guest of<br />

honour and the State President Shri Dhirendra Kalai<br />

was also in the dais. Welcome address was given<br />

by the State General Secretary Smt. Ranju Roy<br />

The President Smt. Manjulika Deb Barman delivered<br />

her presidential speech particularly on the 5 Mottos<br />

viz: Sampark, Sahyog, Sanskar, Sewa & Samarpan.<br />

In the second phase submission of annual reports<br />

& annual accounts was done by the respective<br />

Secretary & Treasurer. Election of new office bearers<br />

was also conducted with Agartala (East) : President<br />

Ajit Kumar Shyam, Secretary : Sudip Saha,<br />

Treasurer : Bikas Roy and Agartala (West) :<br />

President Smt. Shikha Sen, Secretary Smt. Chitra<br />

Sarkar Treasurer Smt. Mamta Paul.<br />

PUNJAB (SOUTH)<br />

Jalalabad (west): The state Workshop was<br />

organised by Punjab South at Jalalabad (west).120<br />

delegates from 23 branches attended the W’shop.<br />

The purpose of the W’shop was to acquaint the newly<br />

elected branch office bearers with the ideology,<br />

aims, objectives of the parishad and bring them<br />

closer to the philosophical working of the parishad.<br />

Sh. Lalit Mahajan Addl. Secretary General, presided<br />

over the workshop. Sh. Sewa Singh Chawla, Sh.<br />

Sriniwas Bihani, Sh.Sat Pal Narula (National<br />

Secretaries), Sh.Jai Pal Garg and Dr.Rajesh Puri<br />

(zonal secretaries) were the main speakers. Sh.Ravi<br />

Doomra welcomed the delegates on behalf of the<br />

branch. Sh. Chaman Lal Kamra, President, Punjab<br />

South welcomed the National, zonal, state officebearers<br />

and the delegates from different branches<br />

of Pb. South<br />

Sh. Lalit Mahajan, Addl. Secretary General,<br />

threw light on the philosophy of BVP. He highlighted<br />

the thought of Swami Vivekananda for service of<br />

mankind and motivating the youth for their role in<br />

development of the Nation. He also explained the<br />

projects and schemes organised at National level<br />

and the corpus fund collected and maintained for<br />

help to needy persons during natural calamities.<br />

Sh. Sriniwas Bihani, National Secretary, Vistar<br />

explained the set up of BVP and its working at<br />

branch, distt.,state, zone and national level. He set<br />

the target for no. of branches in Pb. South to 45<br />

against the existing 36 and membership to 2100.<br />

Sh. Jai Pal Garg, Zonal Secretary, explained<br />

the meaning of SAMPARK in context of BVP and<br />

various projects connected with the sampark sutra.<br />

He explained the protocol to be observed at the<br />

meetings and the functions of the <strong>Parishad</strong> at<br />

various levels.<br />

During the second session Sh. Sewa Singh<br />

Chawla threw light on the need, importance and<br />

various projects prescribed under sanskar sutra.<br />

He explained how to organize GVCA, NGSC, BKJ<br />

projects to inculcate Bhartiya sanskars in youth.<br />

Dr. Rajesh Puri explained how we can reach<br />

to the needy in the society through the sewa<br />

projects. He acquainted the members with various<br />

sewa projects being taken up by parishad viz:<br />

Viklang Kendras, vanvasi kalyan yojana etc. Sh<br />

.Ashok Gupta and Sh Raj Kumar Gupta spoke about<br />

how to make the projects a success and how to<br />

make bvp branches effective among the society.<br />
