A blood donation camp was organized by the branch<br />
on 22.04.2011. In this camp 69 units of blood were<br />
collected by a team of doctors from Govt. Hospital<br />
Sector-32, Chandigarh. Each blood donor was given<br />
a treat of fruit, milk, coffee etc and also given a gift<br />
in token of his donation of blood.<br />
Nabha : Branch distributed school uniforms<br />
to 105 poor students from eight different schools<br />
on 02.05.2011 under the project help to the needy<br />
at M.K. Arya Girls High School. The project incharge<br />
Ms. Swaroopa Rani Singla supervised the whole<br />
proceedings. She was accompanied by the branch<br />
president Kamal Kumar Goyal, cashier Chaman Lal,<br />
Ex President R.V. Singla, press secretary Sarjiwan<br />
Sharma, eminent citizens of the town and members<br />
of the branch.<br />
Malerkotla : Branch provided 5000 note<br />
books and uniforms to the students of 13 various<br />
schools. Jaswant Rai Jain was the chief guest and<br />
Som Nath Bansal Presided. During installation<br />
ceremony of new office bearers for the year 2011-<br />
12 Jeet Gogia, Kamal Kant Modi and Jatinder Singh<br />
took oath as President, Secretary & Treasurer<br />
respectively. Mistry Mohd. Nazir was honoured for<br />
his fifty years service of Gaushala. Sardar Gurnam<br />
Singh Pandher, <strong>Vikas</strong> Ratna was the chief guest<br />
while Smt. Charanjeet Kaur & Smt. Rama Deewan<br />
recited very emotional Bhajans.<br />
Branch organised a declanation contest on<br />
the topic 'Neccesity of moral values in our life'.<br />
Students from 12 schools participated. S.F.S. Sr.<br />
Sec. School was declared first, Govt. Sr. Sec.<br />
School village Bhogi wal second and sohrab public<br />
school third. Shri J.c. Aggarwal session Judge (Rtd).<br />
was the chief guest and Dr. Meena Kumari Principal<br />
KMR D. Jain girls college presided over the function.<br />
Sangrur : Branch organised Parivar milan<br />
programme and oath taking ceremony of the new<br />
elected team for the year 2011-12 under the<br />
presidentship of Vivek Deep Bansal. President<br />
Vivek Dep Bansal, Secretary Parveen Kumar and<br />
Treasurer Yash Pal Aggarwal took the oath for their<br />
respective duties of the <strong>Parishad</strong> and assured for<br />
the well being of the soceity with the co-operation<br />
of all the branch members. Shri <strong>Bharat</strong> Hari Sharma<br />
from the Sunam branch gave information about the<br />
Eye donation programme of the <strong>Parishad</strong> and<br />
motivated the members for pledging of eyes<br />
donation. The Ex President of the branch Bipan Mittal<br />
was honoured for his appreciable work for the branch<br />
for the last 2 years. With his motivation 10 <strong>Vikas</strong><br />
Mittar, were enrolled and they were also felicitated.<br />
Lakshmi Bai, Patiala : Branch organised a<br />
free camp for the handicap with the help of District<br />
Disability and Rehabilitation centre, on 15.05.2011<br />
at Khoobsurat Place. Shri Avinash Rai Khanna,<br />
member Rajya Sabha was the Chief Guest, Shri<br />
Baljinder Thakur, member Punjab state Human<br />
Rights Commission and Dr. Rajinder Kumar,<br />
President Suchna Adhikar Manch (Regd.) were the<br />
guests of honour. 200 patients were examined and<br />
out of that 76 persons were identified for the aid.<br />
On the spot tricycles to six persons, wheelchairs<br />
to six persons, hearing aids to four persons were<br />
given. Dr. Pritpal Singh, Incharge, DDRC, Patiala,<br />
Dr. B.S. Sohal, ENT Specialist and Dr. Mann<br />
examined the patients. On this occasion Shri<br />
Navdeep Gupta, District President, Mohinder Kumar<br />
Goyal, President, R.V. Vashishth Secretary, Mahesh<br />
Kumar, Treasurer were also present alongwith other<br />
members.<br />
PUNJAB NORTH<br />
Manimajra : Branch organised annual<br />
function on April 24 at Lohia Int. School. During the<br />
function the oath to the newly elected team and<br />
new members was administered. A colourful cultural<br />
programe by the school students and the members<br />
of the branch was presented. The branch also<br />
honoured the past President, Secretary, Treasurer<br />
and the patron for their memritorious services. Bhim<br />
Sain Kalia an NRI was the chief Guest and H.R.<br />
Narang President, presided over the function. M.K.<br />
Khaitan was the guest of honour. The function was<br />
followed by dinner. Smt. Geeta Tondon, Mahila<br />
Parmukh, conducted the programme. Rakesh<br />
Sehgal General Secretary zone-1 was also present.<br />
Gurdaspur : Branch celebrated Nav Varsh<br />
2068, Ram Navmi and Baisakhi in the month of<br />
April 2011. The branch donated a color TV (29 inch.)<br />
to the inmates of children home Gurdaspur in the<br />
presence of the chief guest Shri R.P. Singh, ADC.<br />
The branch has adopted this children home as one<br />
of the project. The branch distributed stationery and<br />
sitting matss to the Govt. primary school<br />
Mehmoodpur on 29th Aprill.<br />
