Proclear® Multifocal
Featuring easy to fit Balanced Progressive Technology
Balanced Progressive Technology combines spherical and aspheric optics and unique
zone sizes to produce two different lenses – a D lens for the dominant eye and an N lens
for the non-dominant eye. These two lenses work together to provide great vision quality.
• Simple to fit with no complicated
spectacle Rx conversion required
• Balanced Progressive Technology
maximises binocular visual acuity
at all distances –
near, intermediate and far
• Utilises the unique PC Technology
1. With the full distance prescription in place, view
a distant object. Fog each eye in turn using the patient’s
spectacle Add power. One eye should notice a greater
blur than the other (Blur suppression test).
2. To determine each lens power, take the vertex adjusted
best vision sphere and Add power from the spectacle
prescription.
3. Apply the ‘D’ lens to the eye that notices the greatest
blur in step 1 and the ‘N’ lens to the opposite eye.
Allow at least 10 minutes to equilibrate.
4. Test visual acuity binocularly without occlusion and over
refract each eye independently with hand held lenses.
5. Book a one week follow up with wearer to confirm
satisfactory results in the real world.
One Week follow-up
1. If the fit and acuity are acceptable, order lens.
2. If unacceptable, re-evaluate using CooperVision
‘Hints and Tips’ guide, and return to step 5.
Proclear® EP
Performs like a multifocal, fits like a sphere
Proclear EP is designed specifically for the visual needs of the early presbyope.
The lens has a centre spherical distance zone with a progressive aspheric zone that provides
excellent intermediate and near vision.
• As simple to fit as a sphere
• Specifically designed for patients
with up to +1.25 Add
• Perfect way to introduce patients
to multifocal contact lenses, making
the transition into Balanced
Progressive Technology easier
as their condition progresses
• No need to determine eye dominance
• No need to compensate for Add (assuming patient’s Add is not above +1.25D)
• Leave the lights on in the exam room to eliminate pupil dilation
• Use loose trial lenses for the over refraction (+/- 0.25D), do not use a phoropter
