Sports Order of AHEPA MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT On October 11, 2012 the first AHEPA regional golf tournament was held in Ewing, NJ. Supreme Athletic Director, PSP Ike Gulas was excited and appreciative of the host chapter, Trenton #72, where 70 golfers competed for winning low net and low gross placement in the National Tournament, to be played at the Supreme Convention. The medal play winners both came from AHEPA chapter #515. Peter Mossaidis won low gross and James Sioutis won low net. At the awards buffet, Ike Gulas communicated his thanks and appreciation to all those in attendance. And Supreme Governor Jimmy Kokotas from New York, National Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Lee Millas, and Executive Director Basil Mossaidis all spoke on the renewed athletic program for this year. Over the summer several fishing trips took place where anglers set sail to catch fluke and bluefish. This included the Trenton chapter’s trip. Many fish were caught and stories were told. Other events include golf outings by the Camden (Cherry Hill) and Garden State (Holmdel) chapters. Trenton too hosted their tournament which this year became the first Mid Atlantic Regional tournament. All funds are going towards AHEPA missions for scholarship and philanthropy. The first bowling challenge of the season was issued by Cherry Hill to the Trenton chapter. Cherry Hill was anchored by PDG George Horiates, with Jimmy Rozanitis, George Pappas and Steve Marmarou fiercely competing with the Trenton brothers. The Trenton team was led by PDG Lee Millas, Dino Demetriou and Asteris Fanikos. It was a 22 Winter 2013 fun filled gam but at the end Trenton got the victory. We are looking forward to additional bowling matches between other chapters. Other ideas for the spring are for a father/son paintball outing.
